Thanks for the report, that is an interesting and feasible ink combination, and if it matches PSP, it is a great find.

I suppose it will also be better behaved?

Perhaps I was lucky, but I had absolutely zero issues with any of the Penman inks I used over the years. I still have a good stash of the Mocha and the Ruby, neither of which ever caused me one bit of trouble with clogging. And I don't baby my pens. I just refill them and have at it. Zero problems with Penman in both modern and vintage pens.

Thank you for the wonderful update.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Below is the comparison between my homemade Penman Sapphire (50% Monteverde Horizon Blue, 50% Monteverde Sapphire) and the Scribe Indigo. This sample was created by dipping the same new fountain pen into each bottle and then completely cleaning the nib and section.

IMHO, while the Scribe Indigo is a nice blue, it isn't like the Parker Penman Sapphire. It's very much just like the Private Reserve American Blue. It doesn't have the depth of color that the PPS has.

I seem to remember that Diamine Sargasso Sea was suggested as a replacement a few years ago.

My experience has been that nothing really replaces PPS.

I did this for a Pelikan Hub ink shootout a few years ago. I use cream Tomoe River so the inks look different than if you're using the white Tomoe River. Scribe is the second blot next to the PPS blot.

Hello John Danza,

why you not comparing it to the real PPS and comparing it to the home made version?

I'm out of PPS. so I can't compare it to the Scribe Sapphire. However, my homemade version is so close to the PPS, it's a fair comparison from my perspective. YMMV.
