Hello Andy,

Thank you for the review, though no comparison with PPS was included, it could have been nice to see it compared to PPS, specially that you posted the link here.

Best regards.

Hello Andy,

Thank you for the review, though no comparison with PPS was included, it could have been nice to see it compared to PPS, specially that you posted the link here.

Best regards.

I don't have any access to PPS. I just posted the link here because Cyber6 was eager to see my review.

But if someone sends me a sheet with PPS written on it, I can add text with De Atramentis Steel Blue.

Andy is someone sending you a letter?

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Andy, send me your address via PM and I'll write to you with PM. Tragically, I will have to refill with PPS ;) and I've already used it in my quest to use 366 inks this year. Thank goodness it is a favorite.

Here comes a first comparison with De Atramentis Steel Blue. It's quite a lot greener.

Another quick test sample. The text at the bottom is PPS.

The colours in the scan looks slightly greener than in reality, but the scanner we have at work isn't the best.

The water washes really show a different depth to the ink. Thank you for sharing.

The scan on this one is also off to the green side.

Yes. I guess it's the scanner at work that likes green...

It's not just the vivid color, it's the shading.

I'm not involved, just nosy....looking for 'the' match...after so many years.

I find 'true' or vintage regular flex...in F or M...shades well in they are not as wet as semi-flex nibs of those widths.

I have a number of papers I didn't have before so when I open up the last couple of cartridges....do want something close.

There seems to be close to color....but none of the contestants seem to shade well.

:headsmack: I jumped from start of page 4 thinking I'd end on the last page...page 5....not page 26.

Now to go back and see what was closest off the shelf. :wallbash:

About Parker re-issuing. .... Pennman inks were supersaturated back when no one at all knew about cleaning one's pens. So there was high repair costs of dirty pens.

Back then one didn't change ink every time the pen was empty...same old ink. Same old back drawer. No high teck rubber baby bulbs....ignorance was great.

Even Parker didn't know about rubber baby bulbs.

Advertising cleaning pens to keep the lawyers off their backs is a negative image.

Since Noodlers most know to clean their pens. Itty bitti Parker would have to take on the Giant Noodlers.

They don't have that kind of money.

No reason to talk of business management. Parker has none or they'd upgraded Quink. Waterman at least stuck new names on theirs.

I had a play with both Amber's blend Noodler's Inkyman Sapphire and PPS the other day. It seems the newer inks (at least from Noodler's) are wetter and more saturated than the original PPS.

If so, shading becomes more difficult to achieve.

One would think we with our large membership, we would have a chemist to exact copy this ink. Can't see Parker caring, as long as Parker's names were not used. "NoPPe Sapphire"

The copy has to do more than just duplicate the colour and intensity. The Penman inks were also fast drying, low feathering/bleeding inks. I haven't seen any modern PPS replicant duplicate those properties. They are all slower drying and bleed more.
