My Review Of The Asa Swan

It is here finally. Yay. However i didn't bring any inks to work today, so the only thing i can do i spill out some ink from the Pelikan and dip it to test the nib. The tines are a bit misaligned, which is quite disappointed because i choose the option to test the nib before send out.

After some minor adjustments and get inky fingers, the nib is smooth and as wet as i want. The grip is quite plesant to hold and write.

Eager to fully ink the swan and test it tonight.

Well, i never run out of ink in office because i always carry at least six pens with me everyday :)

And usually i have one bottle or two on my desk, but i happened to bring them to a pen meeting few days ago to trade with a friend and bring the new one home with me.

Just found out that the Schmidt converter comes with it has a crack :(. Besides that, the pen writes perfectly.

Oh, that is bad luck with the broken converter. Why dont you send a PM to Subramaniam. He goes by subbucal here. I am pretty sure he will sort out your problems. He generally is fastidious with his customers

Thanks. But i decided to just let it there. I'm satisfy with the pen, that's enough for me. I have plenty of converters lay around to play with. I only ordered the converter because i never have a Schmidt K5, and want to see how it is when it receives many praises.

My only crib with the pen is about the thick section. It is one of the largest I've encountered. A mm lesser and it would be perfect.

I just received my ASA Swan and it's heaven. A great value too.

I sought out a pen with a nice comfortably-sized section. I have a Montblanc 146 with a 11.5 section diameter that I enjoy, especially for longer writing sessions. This one is also 11.5.

This pen really checks off near all of my perfect pen criteria:

  • reliable, no fuss nib & feed
  • decent sized section diameter
  • non-metal body or section
  • lighter weight but not flimsy
  • balanced
  • easy to clean
  • either converter or piston filling

I imagined I might not care for the white, but it's actually not too bad.

I've got my fingers crossed for a restock.

Thanks to everyone talking up this pen.

i love handwritten review... good review...

one thing i want to bring attention is acrylic used in this pen is amazing... and thick ... and it's tough...

i would still request to users not to throw it around here and there... as acrylic itself has inherent properties of sometimes chipping... which generally happens...

I am saying this is because its such a white beauty.... take care of this like the way you take care of you bikes or cars....

I have found the section to be very comfortable. Do you grip the pen near where the section flares outwards?
