Attila, where did you get the Apache Sunset? :)

I got it quite a while ago form the Goulets.

A great shading ink, I love the effects

But this ink has 2 faces, like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde

Don't let it sit unused in a pen for several weeks, otherwise it will turn into a smeary oily fluid which will never dry again on the paper.

Oh, I remember you saying that earlier! Thanks!

I had no serious issues with it so far though.

New birthday present. The pen is nothing extraordinary to look at, but the writing!

I use a lot of dip nibs and this is the closest I've seen to a dip nib (firm flex) in terms of the thins as well as the swells. This is right out of the box. Part of the fine lines, I'm sure, is because of the R&K Salix. Iron gall ink gives you really nice hairlines. I'm really liking it! I know what I'm using to address all of my envelopes from now on.

sweet!

Wow! What nicely shaded cursive right out of the box. Looks like a winner for Christmas, for me!

Congrats on the Falcon!

Eli, thank you for the comment on my sketch. How's your Kurrent practice going?

It's OK. Nothing interesting to show right now. This baby loves Kurrent:

Finally!!! Got the Franken flex Jinhao pen going after someone one on this forum pointed out that it only worked with a Zebra G nib, not a Nikko G as was suggested in a post by another. Thank you so much for the correction! The nib went in and worked very well in less than five minuets! After spending a few hours trying to fit a Nikko G in unsuccessfully....I can tell you....I was thrilled to have solved the problem. I'm also surprised at how well this thing works.

You have to write very slow, of course so the ink flow keeps up, but one must write slow with a dip pen as well, so that's not at all an issue. I am impressed. Darn site less expensive than some of the other flex nib pens I own too!

Halloween, I am always so impressed by your pens and your writing! Kinda liking the Burn sienna ink as well.

Good stuff, I am glad that the frankenpen worked out. I have used the Zebra G in a few Jinhaos and an Aldo Domani two toned pen. The Aldo actually works a bit better because it has a huge feed.

I have also seen this done with a Brause Rose nib, but I have yet to try it myself. Considering how difficult this nib can be to get going, I can't imagine that it would be a very reliable nib for a frankenpen. I HAVE tried a Nikko G, Leonardt G, and a Tachikawa G...only the Zebra fit well enough without modification.

I just got my Anderson Pens 1.1 italic nib in the mail. I threw it onto my white Jinhao X-450, inked it with some Chesterfield Archival Vault ink, and started jotting notes in my trusty Life Vermilion notebook. Life makes some great laid paper, and the Vermilion notebook is no exception. This is my favorite A6 sized notebook.

I haven't posted about any improvement in my goal of writing right-handed because i thought it was about showing the pens. It's been a month of practice 2 days ago. It's going to be a lot longer before my handwriting looks as good as Ptero's but I'm still at it.

Now I've ordered some supplies for doing some Iron Gall practice, got a beautiful antique glass inkwell with a lid for absolutely nothing on Ebay. The ones with lids are pretty far between. I'll make a nib holder from bamboo, love the bamboo. I'm just not sure whether I should now go for the oblique since I'm practicing right handed, or just stay left handed with a straight pen holder for the calligraphy since a lefty is already slanted that way anyway.

HalloweenHJB, that's a well presented Waterman. Love the writing and the ink as well.

httpmom, very nice modification. I'm inspired.

And now, something from a "third-tier" (although I never understand "tier-snobbism") pen, a DK Pioneer that came to me with a broken nib, and I grind it myself into an 1.0mm italic.
