As you probably all know by now, I really suck at drawing... That doesn't keep me from trying once in a while...

This is just some scratches of R&K Alt-Goldgrun (Twisconti 580AL), Sailor Doyou (Pelikan M805 Demonstrator) and Sailor Tokiwa Matsu (Pilot VP).

Can you tell what I tried to draw?

Coop, I suck at a lot of things, but that never stop me from trying ... hahaha!

I do like your robot sketch.

I am using my Ranga Model 3 paired with Sailor Tokiwa Matsu on the occasion of Deepawali ....

Wish you all happy Diwali / Deepawali...

Man, those Ranga's are cool-looking. One day I'll trade my way to one of the bamboo model.

Happy Diwali to all those who celebrate.

Eli, thank you and I like that turret sketch!

Pterodactylus,

Thank you for the encouragement, my wife bought me a tiny watercolor palette designed for sketching outdoors.

I just may have to give it a try.

Please forgive my childish writing. As I am relearning how to write with pen and paper, from using a keyboard since i was a child.

I like that pen and ink combination. I bought a second bottle because I thought I had used up my first bottle (actually, I thought my wife or daughter might have "borrowed" it). Now I have two. Woo-hoo!

Eli Thanks and your robots are so characterful and bursting with expressions! Love them.

Tas That #3 nib is really pretty! And your photography skills brings out the details wonderfully. Your expressive lines and the warm and cool ink colours make the drawing POP!
Attila That’s the classic Garfield! My kids are watching computer generated Garfield sometimes, and I much prefer the original organic look like you did there.
Ptero Hello Optimus Prime! I wonder what all those robots are going to drink at the big Party. Motor oil? And dance to what music? What's that music that goes "domo arigatto mr. roboto" over and over again? That's so 80's isn't it, showing my age now... :P
uemuraw I wonder how many people in the world are sipping their coffee and scribbling something with their shiny black fountain pen in the morning? I'd like to imagine that there would be many, and that brings a smile to my face. Mine was a half black, half silver Pilot Elite this morning. Coffee was a latte with a mix of South American, Ethiopian, and Indonesian beans blend.

I asked my Magic 8-Ball "How many people in the world are sipping their coffee and scribbling something with their shiny black fountain pen in the morning?" and it answered: "Definitely." Not the most responsive, but maybe I can use it to get some funding from NASA for a study.

But I have to confess to a smile as well. There're some folks in South Africa, Ethiopia, and Indonesia probably smiling with a half silver, half black Pilot Elite drinking an espresso with an Australian beans blend.

That's got to be about the most photo-realistic sketch of three pens I've ever seen!

But seriously, the sketch made me immediately think of Bob Ross's happy trees. Pretty cool.

Thank you and I love your sketches too. Plus, yours have filled in colors (I'm jealous because I'm still too chicken to try watercoloring my sketches).

One day soon...

From the legends I heard, "old" FPN guys has the magic to transform a TWSBI into a Namiki Falcon when it's verified and returned to the newbie. Are you the one? If so, I'll send you the TWSBI right away :D

Thank you kindly!

Aaaaanddd!!

Shout out to Eli, SNAK, Pterodactylus. Your robot sketches are awesome!!! :notworthy1:

Yes – I think I can. We should put it to the test.

Somehow, it seems you're right. I'm kinda hooked. It's a lot easier than I thought! Once in a while, this good community will suffer from my Suetterlin and Kurrent variations.

Until your post, I had never heard of Suetterlin, another on the long list of marvelous things lacking from my paltry education.

But I'm studying.

Yes, it is a nice colour.

Does it stain and/or is it easy to wash out?

Thanks.

Today I a writing with Mitchell "Round Hand" nibs. These nibs are a lot more flexible than my preferred round hand nib (Leonardt), and thus more difficult to control. Flexibility is a useful trait in pointed pen calligraphy, but less so in broad edge calligraphy and handwriting. It is because of this flexibility that I rarely use Mitchell pens (I also do not care for Mitchell's reservoirs, and tend to use the nibs reservoir free...which just adds to the instability of these nibs). I have no good reason for choosing these over either my Leonardt or Tape nibs, I jut thought that I should give them another go. Unfortunately my handwriting is even more chaotic with Mitchell nibs.

The holder is just some random odd holder. I have no idea where I got it or who manufactures it, and I have never seen another one like it.

The paper is standard Staples Arc Disc paper (jr. size), and is nothing special, but is a step up from notebook or Moleskine paper.

The ink is my standard blue: Rohrer & Klingner Königsblau.

Pilot Custom 912 with Michael Masuyama-tuned factory stub nib, loaded with Pilot Black document ink. Nice writer.

attachicon.gifPilot Custom 912 and coffee.jpg

What a nice coincidence!

The 912 is a wonderful, yet understated pen! I really love mine and actually plan to get another one with a different nib in the future!

Attila, I love Garfield !

You catched him perfectly.

In the last time there were only very few sketches/drawings from you, I hope we will see more the next time again.

Thank you Ptero!

I'll try to do more, I promise! I already owe you a Hulk sketch

Attila That’s the classic Garfield! My kids are watching computer generated Garfield sometimes, and I much prefer the original organic look like you did there.

That computer adaptation is a really disappointing! I also prefer the original! :)
