And for the "permanent ink quest", they didn't have the De Atramentis Dokument ink in stock in blue, but...

Turns out to be a little cheaper too... More Euros per bottle, but less per ml :)

Not dirty. I'd say astute and prudent with the perfect perspective for well-reasoned discretion. That's totally appropriate for children's books.

And now, I just got to see a most interesting global discussion about translating a beloved children's story.

My boys would say "epic."

And double cool that a flying beagle and a rubber ducky are not only talented, but pretty brainy, too.

Haha, thanks uemuraw!

Indeed, "Epic" is creeping into my boys' vocabulary too. It may well become the next "preferred work word of the month". (I hate predictive text thingy...)

This has been a Parker Month here, below the pens I've been using:

Leon, I love your Parker Tower! Very impressive. The very slight incline down towards the nib also means that the pens will all be juicy wet and ready to write the moment you take their caps off.

Here's a slightly different angle.

This is the Clairefontaine A4 lined tablet.

I love love love this picture. They are so purrrrdy!!!

Wonderful leather work you have done there, WireFox! Your pen case is beautiful. I love the look and smell of well-oiled leather. I envy your skills.

Oh Ptero, it's another masterpiece! In fact I think I like this one the best so far because I can feel your love towards your son looking at this drawing.

Don't you just want to bottle them up and keep them little the way there are? My younger son is turning 5 this month and he is starting "big boy school" in the new year too. I am looking forward to seeing him mature and grow but at the same time, as he is my last baby, I feel like bottling him up to preserve for eternity, all his sweetness and cuddles and everything.

Really taking Flex Nib Friday to heart today:

I wish it is Friday every day if we can see your beauties. I love the Starlet & Merlot combination the most. Swooooonn.

I just finished restoring this Wearever Pacemaker.

Mr. Inkluminati, you've outdone yourself again! This one is beyond gorgeousness. Do you polish them by hand, what do you use? Your attention to detail is amazing. I always enjoy your nibs, pens and handwriting. Please keep them coming!!

In what way is this ink permanent? Is it resistant to water, light or age? I bought a box of black cartridges last week to try before I buy a bottle.

It's water proof, and the bottle I have is labeled ISO 14145-2 certified. Did a google search on this and it is a standard for archival inks.

Permanent as in: it doesn't dissolve or smear when I go over it with Pelikan M205 Duo highlighter ink :)

Coop, I'm glad you found the waterproof and relatively easily available blue ink for you. :)

It looks like the highlighter ink doesn't smudge it at all, so it's a wonderful end result.

YES, absolutely! Love the color of that ink, and it combines beautifully with that pen!

Next time, try that ink on the cream paper, and see what you think... :)

Halloween, I hope you had a great birthday.

I took your advice and tried the Red Dragon ink on a couple of cream coloured paper. The ink looks darker and richer on cream paper, and I love that effect!

This note is for my friend's daughter who is 14 years old. She was interviewing me for her school project and taking notes with her ballpoint pen. I noticed her pretty handwriting and commented on that, and we got to talking about my love of fountain pens. When I thought about the Fountain Pen Day and to give away a pen to someone, I immediately remembered this girl. So a white TWSBI Eco is going to her on the Fountain Pen Day, 6 November 2015 (it's the first Friday of November). I hope she will enjoy the pen, and I am going to give the pen along with a few small Diamine bottles of bright coloured ink.

Did some more testing (slow monday morning start in the office  ). I must say this ink works pretty well for what I want to use it for. The color is a tad boring, but there's a little shading to make it look a bit more interesting. It's (very) waterproof, highlighter-compatible, wet enough for a decent flow and dry enough to work on crappy paper and it was less than 4 euro over my intended budget :)

So far, the only downside is the dry time. It takes a tad longer than i hoped to dry, this is not problematic in regular writing, but it is something to take into account when taking notes. If I first fill up the page and then highlight, there will be no problem.

This one is reasonably confident, as far as such a statement could ever apply, that the ink here is either Private Reserve Electric Blue or Diamine Sargasso Sea. Both smell about the same, and EoC cannot remember which was used to fill the pen

Wow, I love your handwriting. It's so nice t read and see.

"You mustn’t be afraid to dream a little bigger darling.” "Forever optimistic with a theme and purpose." "My other pen is oblique and dippy."

I have now tested the Black Permanent. It never dries. :( Sooo disappointed. It smudges after 20 minutes!
