Hey, those little ketchup bottles are the perfect size for holding ink!

Sure, but I was wondering if some kind of exotic dip-pen magic was going on with the ketchup. :)

OH, isn't that where you use the french fries to write out messages?

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Edible stubs. What a concept.

1. Might the unknown Waterman be a Taperite?

2. Is there a calligraphic reason for the ketchup?

Edit: Cool swag!

Written using a Century 3775 M nib with iroshizuku fuyu-syogun ink.

Why do I feel the need to listen to Miles Davis all of a sudden?

... Never underestimate the power of human stupidity ...

(Pilot Parallel Pen 1.5 mm ..... Diamine Sherwood Green)

Ptero, thanks for letting me know the specs for your paper. I often use 160gsm or 190gsm cartridge paper for sketches too, although when I do a lot of watercolour wash I have to go up to the 300gsm Arches or Saunders watercolour paper.

This is still the best!!! Emerald of Chivor

I am so tempted to get at least some of the Diamine shimmer inks! I am narrowing down my Christmas Card writing inks, and one of them is definitely my newly opened bottle of Emerald of Chivor!! I need to decide on a red ink too.

Nib shots, you say... I've got some:

Eli, loved your nib shots!! Other than that TWSBI stub nib, what size nib is your most favourite?

Hi everyone!

I've been lurking on this thread for months, but this post was so funny it made me laugh with tears in my eyes.

I'm officially joining the thread now.

Purchases and swag from The San Francisco Pen Show this past August. I took a class with Michael Sull and bought two of his pen holders. Next on the right is a Sheaffer Crest in Cad Yellow, then a unknown Waterman with a flex nib. The pens to the left are the fabby dollar pens used in the San Francisco Pen Possie's famous ink stations. And a metal pen from china that was gifted me.

Nice set up! I especially like the look of those oblique pen holders.

I have the same pen! I enjoy the vacumatic filling system. It feels so inefficient and at the same time so amusing! :)

For my daily writing, I always tend towards Fine. Nowadays, Platinum Century Soft Fine is my absolute favourite - not exactly flexible, but springy and fun to use. Extended writing sessions, quick notes, doodles - it never let me down.

P.S. Love your Doric family!

I am always amazed at how many amazing photographers there are here!

Heres my latest acquisition and my first Pelikan in several years! Wish it had a touch more flex, but apart from that very happy with it :)

(TWSBI Mini 1,5 italic ..... Diamine Night Sky)

Today I received the Diamine shimmering inks I´ve ordered.

First I tried the Night Sky and inked it up to a TWSBI Mini 1.5 italic and started writing and thought...... WOW...... exactly like in Attilas pictures.

But after only a few lines the pen stopped writing....... clogged...... :(

Even to screw the piston a little bit down did not helped.

Ok, I thought Ok, I forgot this pen before and let ink dried inside, just cleaned it a couple of days before. So I might not cleaned it well enough (but I don´t think this is the case).

So i cleaned the nib again and tried to write...... ok now it wrote, but now the shimmering particles were almost gone. (see picture above).

At the end of the page there were no shimmering particles left.... completely without it.

And yes, I shook the ink well before I inked the pen up.

My observation is that the shimmering particles almost immediately sink down again in the bottle.

It seems that the ink cannot hold it in suspension even a short time.

The same can be observed within the pen (the Mini is a demonstrator).

So my first impression of the new Shimmering ink is quite bad.

First clogged pen, then no particles anymore.......

I keep testing.....

Q: What is the difference between single forms and triplicate forms?

A: A single form will never be read by a person. A triplicate form will never be read by three people.

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.
