Today no FP.

Today evenings quick in between sketch with a Uni-Pin Fine Line pen.

I took a photo and tried to make a comic version out of it.

(Uni Pin Fine Line - 0,1)

(Pentel Brush Pen)

(Faber Castell Albrecht Dürer)

I´m tempted to draw him really with Pencil, Charcoal or Sanguine.... we will see. ;)

Wow I love that quote (didn´t know it yet), and your penmanship

I also have a 159 but I have not inked it since a long time.

It was my first italic nib grind project.

It writes nice but I could not made the feed keep up with the broader italic nib.

Do you also have problems with yours that he can´t keep up the ink flow?

I've been playing around this week with this vintage FK nib. Stiff as a nail...but flexes!

Hi Fire,

I guess your 400 NN is marked as KF.

The K means Kugelspitze, this means the tipping is a round blob similar to modern tippings, this was a special tipping option in the 50s (it does not have the stubby grind which the others have)

The 400 NN have no flexible nib, they have semi flex nibs.

So please do not torture your nib until it cries for mercy by smashing it down with great force.

You will most likely destroy it.

Semi Flex nibs give subtitle variations but they are not flex nibs.

If you need more variations search for a flex nib pen (you will not find a Pelikan with a flex nib).

Attila,

That Moss Green is delicious!! I came so close to buying a bottle of it at the Dallas show--should have gone ahead and picked it up.

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.

Green being my absolute favourite colour, I would like to get Moss Green, but I have seen it compared to Diamine Sherwood and seemed very similar. Could anyone possibly confirm this? Already have 80ml of Sherwood, and the fancy GvFC bottle would not be worth the extra expense.

Here is an amazing comparison: https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/topic/266761-comparison-of-48-greens/

I hope it helps.

The only similar ink I have is the Parker Penman Emerald.

Golden sands is amazing, as well. I have found that of the Diamine Shimmer Inks that I bought, Golden Sands, Red Lustre, and Blue Lightning have the most consistent and even shimmer. Have you found that as well?

(Pilot Parallel Pen 1.5mm ..... Diamine Sherwood Green)

(Pelikan 400NN Brown Tortoise - F ..... P.W. Akkerman Hofkwartier Groen)

And of course my pictures from my desk with ordinary desk lamp lighting can´t compete with Attila´s professional shots.

Btw. Attila I guess you use some kind of light box.

Can you show pictures of your environment and which lamps you use?

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Sorry for you wallets everyone! :P
I was really happy to share the photos with you all! All I can hope is that you'll enjoy them as much as I do. :)

I couldn't use them all for a longer period yet, but these do perform great. Actually each of them worked better than I expected!
Except for the Lustre, because it looks like blood when it's wet, but then it dries to a more pinkish shade of red and that's not actually my type.
As for the shimmer, i didn't find too big differences so far. The overviews I did were done with one pen, so that could've come out I guess.

Haha! I need to do a sketch of that sight with Hulk though

Here you can see the idea of my really professional lighting technique:

A plastic file and the flash of the camera. I rarely use anything else. Most of the time not even a tripod.

@Amber, I'm so excited to see your and Claudia's mixes!
