Being a long-time lurker I know that in this awesome thread, TWSBI pens and stub nibs are nothing but a commonplace. Anyway, today I dare to share with you my first impressions of the Vac700 (never had a TWSBI or a proper stub before).

And some Cyrillic (translation available on request)

Ooh, I do like how your handwriting in Cyrillic looks. Let me see if I can translate; it's been a while since I've used Russian, and it was never that good to begin with. What follows is unartistic; please correct any errors.

The wintery expanses are wonderful,

a plane flies across the sky.

The excellent motors make noise,

the magnificent machine gun fires away.

The hardware sparkles with steel

and has no mercy on any living thing.

On the tenth day a pilot with a moustache

carries out an act of heroism.

I thrust my glance into the future,

and although I saw nothing,

I knew absolutely clearly

that songs would accrue about him.

It's a bit bleak, no?

Eli, welcome to FPN. Enjoy that stub!

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

It's a bit bleak, no?

Not bleak at all, I could hardly do it better. Just a little correction:

And, having no mercy for his own flesh,

A moustached pilot tenth day in a row...

And irony is in the eyes of the beholder (just like beauty). Thanks for appreciating my humble efforts on old-fashioned calligraphy!

nice. reminds me a little of old cyrillic script.

It's loosely based on 18th century script.

The nib and pen may be common, but your handwriting is definitely not

... such confidence, and so graceful.

Thank you for sharing!

It's so good to see a handwritten reply! Can't disagree - there were ugly and simply nondescript writing instruments which helped me more than any fancy pen. Love your handwriting: so distinguished, no matter what pen you use.

The pleasure is all mine :) Actually, I'm flattered.
