That's a beauty.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Trying to capture this with an iPad camera with an iPhone as light source. It obviously doesn't do it justice. I am also surprised at how "wet" this ink is. This nib usually shows a like like a true stub (not super thin thins but a difference between thin and thick), but with this Emerald of Chivor it looks like a BB nib, which is cool! Don't get me wrong. And super smooth to write with.

I've also been surprised at how well my Black n' Red notebooks show off this ink. It's thick enough with this nib that the red doesn't come through quite so much, but it's a cool dark teal color, with tiny red highlights and very nice sheen and shimmer. I just wish I could take a better picture here at work.

Lots of great pens and nibs there, folks!

I am still in Parker 51 mode...

Amazing shot. Haven't seen a set like this in three decades, no less.

There was an attractive blue mix that was in the "old" section, but I cannot seem to find it.

It was by dcpritch, also using Diamine ink. I think it was a 1:1 mix of Asa blue and Sapphire blue.

Diderot, I think SNAK's mix is prettier by far, but the one I've used for some time is, as you said, 1:1 Asa and Sapphire, which I irreverently call "Asphire Blue".

Well, I wrote this a while ago...

Here's the artist nib next to one of my favorite (and most flexible) regular nibs.

Ohhh I so covet that Artist's nib! The long tines just screams flexible! And you do the nib justice with your beautiful handwriting too!

I really like the creative way you were able to increase the ink capacity!

Thanks akafridi, now my little Nakaya can hold about 1.2ml of ink as opposed to about 0.5ml that it used to hold with the standard Platinum converter. Yay! I intend to do the same with some of my other c/c pens that I love to write with, but don't enjoy their filling system.

That Wality is absolutely nuts! (in a good way) Only someone as classy as you, mehandiratta, could carry it off. Fantastic.

The Pelikan Raden Starlight is gorgeous! Love it.

And I wasn't sure how I'd feel about the amethyst pelikan, but SNAK makes it work.

Thanks for the confirmation.

I remember I liked it, but couldn't remember exactly the colour, hence my looking for your post - unsuccessfully.

No matter, it's only ink :) .

The Walnut ink is a powder you mix with water to make a dip pen ink. I get mine from John Neal Booksellers. You can get it premixed, but it's significantly more expensive and exactly the same stuff as the crystals, just water and a bottle added. I got a 1 oz bag and it will last me for quite a while. You use basically about 1.25 ml (about 1/4 tsp) in 30 ml (about an ounce) of water. That doesn't put a very big dent into even the 1 oz bag of crystals.

Joe, I like the pen case you have. I remember seeing someone else using the same one (maybe a bit bigger? I can't remember) and wondering about the material it was made of. Is the fabric soft inside where the pens touch? It looks like a really functional design.
