Today it's two pens; two inks and I'm in the mood for Kingdom Note :)

Omas Ogiva Alba Green with Phasianous Versicolor (Teal Pheasant)

Omas Ogiva Alba Purple with Garrulous Lidhi (Lidith's Jay True Blue)

Both are ecstatically smooth M-Italic nibs!

Oh, and it's Parker Quink black ink. Nothing special but good enough for a first, experimental fill.

The nib could probably use a little more tweaking (still a little hard starting when you first un-cap), but it's fun.

This picture hardly does justice to the gorgeous pairing of blue and silver in the Omas LE. The set comes with four nibs : extra fine extra flessibile 14kt, broad 14kt, italico 18kt ( which appears to be less broad than the italic on my Ogiva Alba), and the fine 18kt nib pictured here which has a nice bit of flex to it. The set also comes with an Omas notebook and an Omas leather traveling case that has loops to accommodate two fountain pens and the three extra nibs. Why? Why would I rather purchase this set than a new leather couch, chair and ottoman from Restoration Hardware?? Because one can't write with an ottoman. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. Did I mention the lovely Omas polishing cloth tucked into its own loop? The inside of the case is a royal blue velvet. Perhaps I should have used Diamine Blue Velvet ink. What an ensemble !

Steve : Very very beautiful pens : Green and Blue, both. Omas is ogiva is a fav of mine. How do you manage with the feather weight ? I couldn't, despite best efforts, and called it a quit. Now your pens remind me : oh .. how beautiful .. I did a mistake.

Neighbor's envy , owner's pride !

Cheers.

Hey, Houston. It is cute. I love the little shiny metallic stars and moons. It's actually also fairly comfortable for a small pen.

I friend lent me a Noodler's Ahab and tonight I'm going to see if I can put the nib into this beauty. I'd love to have a flexy nib in it. That's the only thing that would make it more fun.

Today, a few oldies and my most recently manufactured one.

Thank you so much pankaj for the kind compliment! I'm one of those people that loves all types of pens, from heavy to lightweight, from large to mid-sized and even smaller mid-sized.

With Omas, it helps to sort of get into the philosophy of their design artisans and goals:

Armando Simoni was often heard to repeat “A pen must make writing pleasurable”. If writing is the key to a man’s soul then OMAS designs speak about their creator. Armando Simoni was a lover of Greek culture, a technician and artist at the same time and a great enthusiast of the pen world.

I believe that their emphasis is on the nib and design just simply making it easier to write and for many, this means a light pen. They are masters of unique designs and beautiful craft, although the same attention to the ease in ink flow and "gliding" on paper sometimes takes a toll on their pen quality. I myself have one of the Ogiva Albas #002/137 who's barrel decorative band is wearing off badly, but as this is cosmetic and the writing is stellar, I just do not want to part with it for the usual two month repair time. You should definitely own one of these pens and the Cocktail versions are coming out soon. That will also give you a nice opportunity to get one of the Green, Orange or Purple ones for less money (send Bryant of Chatterley and email or contact Fountain Pen Hospital).

Here's another for you :)

I bought a purple one from Chatterley at the DC Show, with a fine Extra Flessible nib. It was the ONLY purple Ogiva Alba I saw at the show, and I don't like any of the other colors, so I felt very fortunate. Got it at a good price, too, although I did tell them about all the recommendations I've given them for their custom finished Delta Fusion 82s. They're great people.

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.

My daughter and I always look for love heart shaped stones. We too have loads but ours aren't in jars, they're all over the house. She's better at finding them than I am but I found a doozy the that day. I'll post a snap later if I can.

Is that for real? The white outline too!

The pebble surely is a little gift thrown from the heavens to show you you are loved.

What a nice thing to have.

I enjoy seeing your flowy handwriting, it looks lovely with the stub/italic nibs. I like the look of your pair of green striped Pelikans, side by side. The M400 looks so tiny sitting next to M1000!

Yes, 140 nibs will fit in M200/M400/M600 Pelikans no problem. I see in your sig that you have a couple of 140's. Try and swap the nibs around, it might be fun.
