Would still love to know where you get those nibs. I've not found anything like that (on the internet of course, nothing like that exists in this country).

I read your note, then looked under your name to see which country was listed as your location. Had a giggle. Well, of *course* nothing like that exists when you're nowhere! :-)

These certainly exist somewhere other than 'nowhere'.

Just experienced the clear difference in lubrication between Herbin and Pelikan, when I changed carts in mid sentence. I thought that my Ambition would write smoothly with just about everything, but 4001 is giving her a run for her money.

Ink: Diamine Jet Black and J. Herbin Eclat de Saphir

SNAK, the raden looks great! Diamine Pansy brings out the deep purple in the black, I think. Like nori :)

Oh I love your R2D2 (Skyline) pens! I especially like that set with the gold band.

The Capless Raden is way heavier than what I usually prefer, but it is so shiny and sparkly so it gets picked up often, then written with for a paragraph or so, then put down because IT IS HEAVY! For me anyway. But it's pretty. :D

:o Stunning! I used to not like the look of the VP/Capless pens.... but I have come around to them and would LOVE to get one in either EF or the stub. Yours is simply stunning. <3

I used to dislike the hooded/semi-hooded nibs too! I used to think they were butt ugly. But as I started to like semi-hooded nibs, and eventually totally hooded P51 pens, I kind of gradually gotten used to the intsy wintsy nibs like these. Thankfully the weight of the pen is at the nib end (unlike piston fillers with brass piston mechanisms) so I can still write with the Capless despite their weight.

skysora: it's a great combination. Love your handwriting!

I like that Sky Blue 1911! Is the whole pen that colour? I would like to try a Sailor pen one of these days. I have so many Sailor inks but no Sailor pen at all! I am looking at those Naginata nibs.

The Capless stub is interesting. It likes you to hold the pen straight and high, like almost 80 degrees angle from the paper, and I think that's where its sweetspot is. But I don't hold my pens like that, I hold them kind of lying flatter with shallower angle from the paper, so it was skippy in the beginning. Also I had that misaligned tines so I initially didn't like it, but a bit of fiddling with the nib on mylar sheets and the help from my loupe sorted it out. It is a nice and juicy nib. At 1.0mm, line variation is not significant but I like it now much better than the Broad.

Sometimes those moments before a sketch looking for something or someone are just as pleasurable as the actual sketch.

Here are a few of my lovelies on Eastbourne Beach.

Left to right. Derwent water brushes (one with water one with J Herbin's Gris Nuage), Lamy Safari EF, Edison Hudson EF, Namiki Falcon SF, Platinum Plaisir body with 0.2mm preppy nib, TWSBI Vac 70 EF, Noodler's Nib Creeper.

Noodler's Ellis Island washed over with Gris Nuage - yum.

Lovely sketch Tas! I want to master the art of ink wash but I am scared of its unpredictability. And its so permanent if I make a mistake too. Do you have different coloured inks in each of your pens?

Pebbly beaches are so rare around here, so I was mesmerised by all those pebbles! My younger son collects pebbles (I know, but it's a kid thing), and he will have a field day if we went to a beach like that. He already has like 3 canning jars full of pebbles.

Gorgeous pen and nib! Is it stubbish? But most of all your handwriting is so fluent and expressive! Beautiful everything.

SNAK: Yes and no – the section and body are that color, while the cap is a little darker (Sailor seems to like doing that, for some reason). It's a special edition made for Kingdom Note. And I'd definitely recommend a Sailor; the Naginata nibs are just about my favorite 'stock' nibs out there.

Empty_of_Clouds: cool nib!

I picked up a set of 6 a few weeks back. All different widths, all italics. Cost $20, and the bonus is that they screw into Esterbrook bodies! Bargain.

Thanks SNAK.

Yes, different colours in all the pens, although quite a few now have Douyu and Waterman's Black (they're so nice). Paper is key to ink wash I've found and I look forward to finishing this sketchbook and return to Stillman & Birn stock especially as I'm no longer using just water to wash over the lines as I prefer the split of colours using the Gris Nuage.

My daughter and I always look for love heart shaped stones. We too have loads but ours aren't in jars, they're all over the house. She's better at finding them than I am but I found a doozy the that day. I'll post a snap later if I can.
