Don't Just Tell Us About The Pen You're Using, *show* Us! - 2015-Ii

Nice handwriting! :)

But please be careful not to spring that nib. It's not made to be flexible as in opening up the tines like a soft dip pen nib, so trying to make it do that could easily spring it. Judging from the pressure imprint on the TR paper from the previous sheet (a la Sherlock Holmes deduction :eureka: ) the nib has been pressed down quite hard on the paper.

I agree the Falcon isn't what you could call a flex nib, but it's definitely capable of some line variation (at least 2x spread) without risking springing the nib, as long as you're careful. It's about as capable as some vintage semi-flex nibs.

That's one of my all time favorite pens/nib, Amberlea!

Thank you!

I now have two of these nibs. I save up and wait until I can find one. They are great for my handwriting.

Stunning pens!

Thought I'd put some ink in this one.

I wish I could afford a decent pen, but alas I cannot.

Empty_of_Clouds - Your Skyline is a classic and an extremely well made pen, I would take one of those over any new fangled pricey pen!

I'm of two minds about the utility of this design. The pen is too heavy posted for me to use, but unposted, the barrel is so smooth and weighty that it will roll off the desk if you put it down for even a few seconds. That being said, I like that I could probably use this nib as a substantial weapon if I'm ever cornered, which has its weird appeal.

This pen has blown me away.

I have always heard about how springy and responsive gold nibs can be, but I had not experienced it despite owning several gold nibbed pens until today.

This nib feels amazing. It feels nothing like the nails I'm used to. It is so soft and fun to write with. I've heard complaints of skipping or hard starting with Sonnets. Not here. The pen is consistent as can be.

It's not just the nib, either. The Sonnet is just genius design. The lacquer is warm and pleasant to touch, the weight is light but substantial. The cap posts and caps with ease and yet authority. The dimensions are neither too large, nor too small. The design is attractive but unassuming. This pen is a game changer, for me.

I believe it is a 90s model. I can seriously say this is the best pen I have ever used, by far.

Lovely to hear your enthusiasm for it. I reckon you're lucky. Sonnets have a very spotty reputation, and I've never been able to get one to do more than protest a meagre line. So, very glad yours is poetry-in-hand!

I guess I am. I was worried about it when I bought it, but I was just so attracted to the blue lacquer, and I had heard good things about the original 18K nibs, so I risked it. It couldn't have turned out better. These 90s nibs are legit.

Thanks Suji, mine is not the vintage original 101N, but the recent reproduction. A 101N in great condition would be so hard to find, but most of all I like the new M101N with its modern materials because I feel like I can actually take it out with me in my purse and use it rather than having to baby it a bit. I like its small size and roundish features.

Love those beauties

Thanks mehandiratta. :)

It seems the thread is pretty quiet at the moment. I love looking at everyone's handwriting and their pens, but people must be having fun enjoying the summer vacation up in the northern hemisphere. I'm still waiting for spring to come down here, and nothing much is happening on a Friday afternoon :(, so I took some more pictures.

SNAK, the raden looks great! Diamine Pansy brings out the deep purple in the black, I think. Like nori :)

:o Stunning! I used to not like the look of the VP/Capless pens.... but I have come around to them and would LOVE to get one in either EF or the stub. Yours is simply stunning. <3

Sometimes those moments before a sketch looking for something or someone are just as pleasurable as the actual sketch.

Here are a few of my lovelies on Eastbourne Beach.
