Does the Eco have the same nib as the 580?

The Eco has the same nib and feed as the TWSBI Mini pens, in terms of the nib's shape (Mini nibs have smaller "wing" than 580 nibs), but the diameter of the base of the nibs is the same, so if you have a spare 580 nib, it will certainly fit into the Eco pen, as well as it will fit into the Mini.

That's my favourite "serious" ink for when I feel like using a serious pen. I love it's behaviour, colour, ease of cleanup, and the fact that it has water resistance. It makes me happy to see it in someone else's pen too. :P

Oh, and these old things got an airing too. A bit wasted in my hands, but there it is.

fpn_1437471736__birdies.jpg

I love the birds from Mabie Todd!

I have a Swan Minor (the smaller size 1) in the same celluloid pattern as yours. They do beautiful patterns.

I enjoy my Swan, Blackbird, and Swallow, and am still keeping an eye out for a Kiwi.

Added to say: And your pens are not wasted at all, your "owning" them! I love how your lettering looks from those pens, and particularly the blue black in the middle is beautiful with the shading.

Ah, it's not good enough for even the faintest of praise, but thanks for saying that. The blue-black is Rohrer & Klingner Salix, an iron gall ink. Goes on blue and dries/oxidises to a darker colour, though not truly black.

If cleaning counts, I'm using the Visconti carbon graphite. I'm either gonna launch it into the drywall or send it in to get checked out. If I use it, then put it away for a day it won't write without me priming the feed.

Try filling the it up with dish soap, and then rinsing it out and then try a known wet ink. I think you'll have better luck.

Gosh, that J Herbin is divine. I may just have to smash the piggy bank and pray that I may be fortunate to get some before the hordes. :)

Anyway...

I have the same problem with Visconti's Blue Typhoon, which uses the same nib and feed assembly as your pen. The power filler makes it difficult to prime the feed, though. I think this pen may be over-engineered.

Pilot Blue Black is one of my favourite inks. I like it's prominent blue-ness so much.

The color is awful in this photo. I'll see if I can get better scans at home once I confirm that I can recreate the ink.

The brown is about this color.

Did you do anything special to get that much glitter? I have Stormy Grey and I shake the bottle to try and maximize glitter distribution, but even so it seems like I have to fill my pen quickly or it all sinks to the bottom. Maybe it's just this ink. It is gorgeous. I'm glad I'm getting more than one bottle.

Well, as it came in a sample vial I had to fill the pens with a syringe. Reached down to the bottom of the vial and sucked up from there. I had to shake the vial on the second fill because some gold was left at the bottom. I think the 'intense shake and quick fill' rule will be true to this as well as to the Stormy Grey.

Btw, I have only one bottle on pre-order. A local shop has great prices on the other 3, so I hope they'll get the Chivor as well.
