No mysteries here. Have to find a way to show the true blue in these scans - here it looks almost black.

You can calibrate your scanner by calibrating your monitor and printer. Scan your test print from the printer. There is quite a bit of information about this on the internet. I'm glad I'm not doing it though. My color vision isn't the best.

Okay...Now I want a Vac Mini for sure!!!

Pen: Franken TWSBI Vac Mini with vintage Swan 3H nib installed

Ink: Blackstone Barrier Reef Blue

Paper: Tomoe River (White)

As promised, this is my current heavy use pen. It writes a springy Fine line and lets me go on for pages and pages.

Thank you so much for doing this! It is such an amazing looking pen!

A bit of practice this morning with the Desiderata Daedalus (Pelikan Edelstein Amethyst on Stillman&Birn Epsilon paper) before throwing myself into holiday cookery...

I was at a drugstore yesterday as part of some (not too successful) Christmas shopping. They always have some Lamy, Paker and Pelikan inks there so I had to check them out. The Lamy Turquoise always interested me, and luckily there were cartridges of that, so I bought a pack.
I was wondering how close it is to the Diamine Blue Lightning, but the Lamy is more vivid.
I think I like it!

It's pretty close to Diamine Havasu Turquoise. Maybe a tad lighter. Nice ink, amazing pen and great handwriting (as usual) ;).

Thanks for your lovely words skysora, and Wow that pen on the top looks very much like an old Pelikan, you're right. Perhaps they made it for another company? It is so nice.

As it's "Flex Nib Friday," I decided to use this guy for journaling today. An unknown brand red-orange pen (unknown if it's actually red hard rubber or not), that came with a plated steel nib, which I switched out for my spare E. Faber 14k nib. Traded the pen for one of my handmade traveler's notebook covers. The nib is not quite a wet noodle, but it flexes nicely. The tipping is pretty much gone.. I might have to look into getting it re-tipped in the near future.

The book I'm using is an old Mead organizer I got ages upon ages ago from a Target, filled with Raymay's Tomoe River personal-size refills, which I get from JetPens.

I so adore your flexy writing. Perfect seasonal colours too. Love it.

You've got it:

Who called me 'Tucky'? ;)

Thanks for indulging me, Eli. Yours sure is a very nice example. I like how the gold cap has wavy lines running through it, not just the plain old straight lines. Oh and that clasp...

Very realistic eye Ptero! Lovely details on the scales of the creature too.

Nice Major Vac.

Perfect!

I love the Blue! I have the same CH92 (B) in Orange with Diamine Pumpkin inked up right now. I am always pleasantly surprised at how smooth the CH92's piston mechanism moves.

I will have holiday guests arriving tomorrow and have to pack away the mess in the house so I won't have access to my photo lights etc for a week or so. It's a busy period but also we get to spend some quality time with family and friends we don't usually get to see so I plan to enjoy the time fully.

I will (hopefully) be checking in to read this thread but I doubt I will be able to post anything much for a few days, so while I won't "speak" with you I hope everyone will have a wonderful holiday season.

Oh and I am sure the robot party will rage on all through out the holiday season too. They don't need to sleep, so they can keep going and going, I'm sure.

Here's my favourite little guy on duty, guarding my pen for me, but he is all dressed up to go off to the party after I go to bed. (I was too lazy to draw anything so you need to forgive me with just a photo.)

Thanks! I actually find it more comfortable to write with than my (choke :excl: ) Pelikan M605 Marine Blue.

Thanks! The piston mechanism is optimalised design exemplified.

Now THAT is BLUE!!! Amazing. I can't wait to get my Vac Mini (EF) in. I plan to put a Pilot Penmanship nib in it for super fine lines suitable for drawing. ^_^

Replacing the nib sounds very interesting. Can you do that with the TWSBI Diamond 580 too and what's the reason for doing it? I might give it a try.

Take care

Tomas

The next episode came earlier than usual, because I filled up another pen before emptying the Lamy 2000, to at least give me some variety. Feels like the episodes are getting longer and longer by the telling… (Faber-Castell Ondoro Smoked Oak Medium)

Ian, your pen vocabulary is contagious. Last Sunday I called a touchdown by our hometown football team -- the undefeated 13-0 Carolina Panthers -- a "stoater." Nobody knew what I was talking about

Hahahaha. you'll need to write yourself up a glossary handout Bob.

Or failing that, if you require a translator, I'd be more than happy to "pop over" to your sunnier part of the world and offer my services.

Thank you! I just mess around, so it's not consistent. But it sure is fun to do!

Yep! The Pilot Penmanship/Plumix/Metropolitan/Prera/78G nibs will all fit in TWSBI Eco, Minis, and 580 pens. You have to grind the side tabs off and heat set the feed.

Someone was very kind and sold me their TWSBI 580AL in Orange, which I sadly missed out on. Yay!! I've been using it, equipped with a Pilot F nib and Diamine Chocolate, to do some doodling today. Ink washed over with a Pentel Aquash waterbrush. The notebook I made myself with Staples Sustainable Earth copy paper. It's very fountain pen friendly.
