Did you have to make any modifications to fit the Swan nib?

From memory, yours was a stubbish Swan 2H (or was it 4H? one off from my 3H I remember) wasn't it? I don't have that size nib so I am not sure if yours will fit, but it's worth a try.

I've done a step by step TWSBI Mini and 580 nib swap tutorial on this thread a while ago (let me go and search it). Here it is with the photo of replacement feed that I use for most of my Franken TWSBI's.

I like the FPR (Fountain Pen Revolution dot com)'s ebonite feeds because they can be heat set to suit the shape of the vintage nibs much better than modern plastic feeds. Also the ebonite can be shaved or carved where necessary so increase flow etc. I emphasise the importance of grabbing a good few of them (they are not expensive) because due to their handmade nature, each one is just slightly different. It's handy to have variety when you are dealing with vintage nibs which are also handmade and also all slightly different.

I hope it helps.

Edited to add some photos of Swan 3H nib and FPR ebonite feed in TWSBI nib unit casing.

Nice pen, nice script.

Just a hobby, learning Dutch?

Yes, I'm a true language geek. I am a professor of Spanish (Ph.D. in Latin American literature), but I love the process of learning a new language. Dutch is extra fascinating because it's the only language even moderately close to English, and the similarities and differences are fun. Maybe sometime soon we can exchange letters in Dutch!

Oh, EoC does not have that nib anymore. EoC gave away the pen.

You can do that? It would be VERY interesting to have my beloved Pilot nibs on a cool pen body.

You have to take a dremel tool to the Pilot nib, and grind off the side tabs. Then it'll fit into the 580/Mini/Eco models. :D Might need to heat set the feed, but other than that, easy-peasey.

As it's "Flex Nib Friday," I decided to use this guy for journaling today. An unknown brand red-orange pen (unknown if it's actually red hard rubber or not), that came with a plated steel nib, which I switched out for my spare E. Faber 14k nib. Traded the pen for one of my handmade traveler's notebook covers. The nib is not quite a wet noodle, but it flexes nicely. The tipping is pretty much gone.. I might have to look into getting it re-tipped in the near future.

The book I'm using is an old Mead organizer I got ages upon ages ago from a Target, filled with Raymay's Tomoe River personal-size refills, which I get from JetPens.

Thanks for all your kind comments to my pencil drawing, this really motivates me to show more.

Regarding the lighting, my wife "stole" my second desk lamp from my writing desk, and pencil drawings are prone to show unwanted reflections on the foto shen the light comes in a steep angle, so I thought it would be a good idea to position my only light source aligned to the lighting on the drawing.

First I thought it was quite too dark on the right side, but after looking at the foto several times I was quite pleased with the outcome (and I didn't wanted to wait to publish a foto until the next day (with daylight)

Thanks again for your many comments, this made me happy that you liked it. :)

Thanks for the kind words! I sometimes do more realistic art, but I tend to lean toward manga/anime style. I used to want to be a comic artist, until I realized I would rather just write the story. But I like making sketches of my characters. ^_^ I've put some doodles on the forums here: https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/topic/289131-my-sketch-dump/

I once knew a German professor who made me mad by joking that Dutch isn't a language, it's a throat disorder.

But seriously, folks, Dutch is a fascinating language, and the Netherlands and Flanders are wonderful places to visit. If you know English and German, it's very easy to pick up enough Dutch to get by in many situations. Every time I would ask someone in Dutch if they spoke English, they were delighted that I made the effort to say something in their language.

I treasure the memories of my visits to Amsterdam, Brugge, Apeldoorn, and Zutphen, especially my visits with my friend, the late Gustav Leonhardt, one of the greatest musicians his generation produced.

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.

Gustav Leonhardt is well remembered by many, including me. His recording of the Brandenburg Concerti is a favorite of mine.

As my Ranga ED was running low it started to misbehave, and as I never refill the same pen twice during the Monochrome Project, I had to dunk the rest of its ink back into the bottle and refill my Lamy 2000 EF, and write up part four.

Pterodactyls

Just got my parallel per your suggestion. It is very wet writer. Which ink should I use so it doesn't rain Ink? And dries fast without bleeding? Pilot right?

Whole nib unit plugs right into the pen metal collar. Used Teflon tape twice around for seal. Easy. Done. Now, use only neutral ink.23603778032_c22c54d6a7_z.jpg

Hi Inky, I never had a problem with extensive wetness of the parallel pens, they are really well behaving pens. I assume your problem is caused by your mod.

Didn't you liked the pens in their original state?

I'm surprised that you were able to get the nib unit out.

I thought the section and the nib unit are glued or molded.

How did you disassembled it?
