It is however a terrific base for doodles of red and magenta.

mhphoto Your flex writing is always a pleasure to see. I counted 17 pens being used, that made me good about the number of pens I've got inked up right now. :D

Attila We had a wonderful trip and it was worth preparing for. Because of your beautiful shading display, now I got myself the Blue Hour Twilight Blue ink too!

tringle That Mabie Todd Leverless was my very first vintage pen, so it is special for me. It uses a version of twist filler system. It has a rubber sac in it, and instead of the J bar pushing against the sac when lever is lifted, the "I" shaped bar kind of grabs the sac and wrings it out to expel ink, then when the knob at the end is untwisted, the sac returns to original state and sucks in ink.

Prvt. Toter Nice lineup of vintage pens all inked up! I enjoy seeing all the old loved and used pens come out to play. I should let them come out more and see the daylight too! :)

The pen that i am using today is a an ebonite eydropper RANGA BAMBOO with Bock M Nib

fpn_1436705117__11200803_101528719012523

The bamboo pen is lovely. I did notice and was admiring Amber's green one before, but your colour is really pretty too. What size Bock nib does it take, do you know? Is it #5 or #6 or perhaps larger? I am thinking maybe another franken project with it. :eureka:

Thank you both for your encouragement. I just fell in love with dip pen, like AAAndrew. The writing is by far most interesting. Everment that I have free I tinker with my Frankies flexies.

I literally started to drool involuntarily…

I love itty-bitty pens, especially from the golden years. Back then even the novelty of them didn't keep the pen makers from putting amazing nibs on them. If you want your mind blown buy one of the old Salz Bros. Peter Pan eyedroppers. Those nibs are, for the most part, insanely good.

Well, a few days ago I was digging through a bag of pens waiting for restoration and I found this little Peter Pan brand lever filler. It's not as small as the aforementioned eyedroppers, but its still very small. And as an awesome perk it looks like a miniature version of one of my grail pens, the Omas Paragon (in Arco brown). The only problem I found with it was that the nib was a corroded steel mess. I'd also found an old Conway Stewart Dinkie with a sweeeeeeet and flexible 14k nib. The Dinkie had some functionality issues, including missing components with the lever, so off the nib came. Fitting it in the Peter Pan was a bi of a challenge, but when I was done it was worth it.

:D

That's it next to my biggest HR Waterman, a 56. I didn't get any pics of the Pan pen, unfortunately.

Here's the two previous pens with the smallest Peter Pan model, the eyedropper.

And here is a writing sample from those three plus a few more from my collection of Peter Pan EDs.

I'll get some pics of the PP alone and repost.

I actually have a Bamboo blowfiller frankenpen courtesy of PeytonStreetPens! One of my very favorites. Not sure on the nib size though (and sorry, don't have a photo of the nib handy) but woooweee is it fun to use. Still working at my flex writing.

Oh how cute are those itsy bitsy teeny weeny Peter Pans! I particularly like the look of the Tortoiseshell Celluloid one.

It's amazing that these little guys can be as expressive as the big pens. Any chance of nib shots of those Peter Pans? I would love to see them.

Thanks for the info mehandiratta, I'll go have a poke around my nib stash and see if there may be something suitable. Do Ranga people have their own website, or do they use eBay mostly? I get their newsletter occasionally but I haven't really paid attention to read through all of the message as theirs tend to be LONG for some reason. :D

On loan...they are beautiful.

You have a pair of Montblanc 149? One in gold trim and OBB nib and another in Rhodium Trim and BB Nib??

:notworthy1: :puddle:

My first sketch for many a month and this one goes out to Sinistral1.

I've often wondered if I chose the wrong ink between Sailor Brown Algae and Sailor Cigar.

Still not sure, but I knew going to The Henry Moore Foundation for an afternoon to see his incredible bronze sculptures that Brown Algae had to come along too.

The way its colours split into greens and blues and yellows when washed was perfect. Glad I made time after lunch for this quick sketch. More to come soon that I've broken my dry spell . . .

Pen: Visconti Homo Sapiens - EF.

Ink: Sailor Brown Algae.

Paper: Seawhite of Brighton.

Beautiful! :puddle: :puddle:

Lamy 1.5|BungBox 4B|Canson Satin paper| Beth Hart |

The sheen is more reddish/pinkish though....the light was too warm

Amazing glazed effect and lovely handwriting!

Wow I need to catch up on reading all the missed posts, I didn't even know that this monster thread has been split into a new one this year.

I have been handing out with these guys. They were awesome!

Pen: Mabie Todd Swan Leverless L205/62 (c.1930's)

Ink: Monblanc Blue-Black (c.1990's)

Paper: Tomoe River (White)

Amazing shots and gorgeous pen.

:puddle: :puddle: :puddle: :puddle: :puddle:

Nice collection and I loved your gold shined inks!

I love the pen porn too!

+1!!
