I love the Platinum Balance that you modified.

I hope everyone that took you up on your offer is just as pleased.

Thank you so much for your reply. I have been tinkering alot with fountain pens nibs... Still searching for a way to add flex to any nib. This one seems most reliable without damaging the nib too much...

Only think is the plastic feeds need to deliver MORE ink :D.

The line variation is similar to that of my vintage Waterman pen that has a gold flex nib. The Platinum nib has more spring back after flexing, it returns to that nice super fine line quickly. The Waterman pen is a small vest pen so the ink capacity is less than the Platinum. Right now I have Van Gogh Starry Night in it and I am constantly writing just to play with it. (I love the color but it dries quickly, so far my all of my flex & semi-flex pens have railroaded to some extent with this ink.) I would be willing to get a few more of these to load with different colors. It's a nice pen to play with.

I'm using my phone & don't know how to make this link a hyperlink, so I'm hoping it works. I have other samples and can post them later.

Van Gogh Starry Night is actually proving to be a wonderful ink in the Balance. When I exhaust the ink in the Waterman I will have to put Van Gogh in it again to compare the two.

Wonderful, colorful, writing with such rustic tools. In my hand, I was able to produce only one third of what you can. Much mastership in your penmanship.

I must confess, I sent it to you without realizing until now, the inner edges of the tines were not smooth for you. I was so happy that I gained flex on such a nib. So on a cross stroke, if flex is applied, it would feel scratchy. Dispite this, you were able to do such wonderful writing with it. Thank you for your wonderful post.

Thank you! With as much as I write it will smooth out. Like I said, I like having a larger ink supply and seeing how much is left. It's a nice pen to carry around and practice with.

Beautiful ! Great job #inkyfingers .... Lovely writing Rach31

Thank you!

I would love to see some of the writing from others that took you up on this offer.

(I would never have thought to tweak a nib to add flex. Have you ever added flex to a Lamy? Do you think it can be done? They are smooth writers, I bet it would be a nice pen.)
