What Was Solv-X In Quink

Chelpark is out of the pen business, but Camlin's Camel ink smells like Chelpark...which smells like "real" Quink. Camel ink has an additive that it claims will clean your pen as you write. Check Ebay...someone is selling Camel Royal Blue for about $6.50 per bottle. I mix Camel with more concentrated inks...

Do you know when Chelpark stopped making ink? I know that I saw boxes with manufacturer dates of January 14 on them.

Chelpark would say on the box,

Contains Cleen-X which protects pens in 4 ways:

Prevents gumming & clogging.

Prevents metal corrosion, rubber-rot

Dissolves, flushes away sediments.

Cleans your pen as it writes.

My guess is Chelpark got out of the pen business about 2012, but someone in India would know.

Recently, Camlin merged with a (Japanese?) office supply company. Still make pens, and Camel ink is still available on Ebay.

In this thread I read that Chelpark had gotten out of the pen and ink business. Thread begins as a history of the Chelpark company, then moves to the ink. Several people had searched for Chelpark ink but, not finding any, had contacted the company. As of about 2013, an executive in Chelpark customer care explained that the company had moved to selling more profitable items; did not know if Chelpark would ever get back into the ink / pen business.

On Ebay, Camel ink is easily available, selling single bottles for about $6 USD and multiple bottles for about $5 USD per bottle. One offer was a dozen or two dozen bottles...I began to wonder how large the package might be!

One person is selling Chelpark bottles at about $15 USD each.

Just talked to a friend in India. The local store has Chelpark and the dates on the boxes are January 2014, cost Rs20!

Wish I could get ink that cheap over here. So it seems that Chelpark is still available at least in the Punjab.

About a month ago I bought a pen from a guy in France. It was a black Centennial made in the 4th quarter of 1990. It came in the original box with everything including a bottle of Quink and on the label it says SOLV-X.
