Montblanc - Marc Newson

I stand corrected. I can't see any pens with the 'artfineliner' tag (extra fine fineliner), but maybe they are just adopting a new term or I haven't looked hard enough.

Nope, you're correct Maxim. The "art fineliner" is unique to the M. I forgot about that one. I thought you were just referring to the regular fineliner. If I recall correctly from my conversation with my contact at the Toronto boutique, she said it has something to do with the retracting nature of the fineliner or something that allowed them to make it unique". I'm heavily paraphrasing now and I wasn't so much interested in the non-FP iterations.

Thanks for the pic. Is the converter unable to fit the nipple or unable to fit in the barrel?

Unable to fit the barrel because of the indentation.

Thanks for the info; I posted this awhile back, but didn't see a reply. Perhaps the Templar (new design) might fit?

That's really cool! What is it, where can one find it?

I personally wouldn't buy the pen unless I can secure and try this converter on it first. But yeah..!!

Finally, I get a reply, thank you :)

Here's his info, but I would recommend asking him if they work. Unfortunately, he has not gotten back to me either, so it would be great if someone in this thread were to physically verify with a MB Newsome.

Good luck!

I handled the M models yesterday, and they all have a nice weight to them. The caps don't post on any of the models. Also, none of them are interchangeable, meaning, once you buy let's say the ballpoint, you can't add the stylus part later as an option, or the rollerball. You'd have to buy all three :)

Well, gee, doesn't post and a converter of any useful capacity won't fit. I guess this is off the buy list, sadly (especially since my initials are engraved on the nib!)

Frankly, I like the design a lot...!

The magnetic cap sounds interesting but God only knows what it's going to do to my credit cards I normally keep in my front pocket...... Guess I'll find out when a payment gets rejected!! I too, am not sure of the initials on the nib.

In any case, my order's in for a 'Fine' nib..... So here goes.

Trueish, although the artfineliner says it takes those refills and the rollerball I think, so that's a small concession.

Mine seems to have cleared customs in Australia (ordered from Netherlands), so hopefully it will arrive before the week is out.

I apologize I haven't seen your earlier post :) I guess the only way to verify or get to the bottom of this is for someone to acquire this particular cartridge (or similar) and try it on a pen in the MB boutique

I handled one in a MB boutique last week. I like it. But I am partial to "non-conventional" fountain pens. I love hooded or semi hooded nibs. If the M had a more streamlined or hooded/semi-hooded nib, I'd be more excited. (My favorites are the Parker 51/61/21, Lamy 2000 & vintage Aurora 88/98. You get the picture)

Not thrilled that it can't take a converter, but it's a sleek modern looking pen. Salesperson in the boutique sys it does not post. It's not cheap or "dinky" looking in person. I was more impressed by it when I actually handled it as compared to just a photo.

I would characterize it as a buy.

So I had a couple of pens shipped from Netherlands as well. Tracking (PostNL isnt that great at tracking it wld seem) says it arrived into Au on the 14th, and as of tonite, still no progress.

Am a little worried actually, surely 3-4 days is enough for it to at least have been processed.

Thanks for that PE, I was wondering if I should contact the shop today but I'll wait on it some more. (First time I'm buying anything from NL)

Really hope it gets here today tho, otherwise I'll be obsessing all weekend !

Hopefully MB is erring on the side of caution insofar as the magnet V cc is concerned, not sure what my gf will do if she cant carry her M in her bag. If not, anyone know how to install Magnetic shields in a Meisturstuck Pen Pouch? :P

Also, I think an earlier poster was worried that the magnetic cap might not be adequate to secure the cap - I've since read that the pen also has a snap mechanism. Just sayin....

I went to the Montblanc boutique in New York City last week. They had sold out of the M and are taking deposits and putting people on a waiting list. The salesperson said that they sold out quickly. I did not put in a deposit because I'd like to handle it first. Hope I get a chance.
