Franklin Christoph Blue 72

Today I'll be reviewing the last of the current generation Franklin Christoph inks, Blue 72. The 72 indicates its' Pantone number. This is a well saturated ink with excellent flow and a well behaved ink in general. Even though it could be considered a middle of the road blue, I really like this ink. It reminds me of all the blue I used thru grade school, high school, college and grad school. I'm old enough to remember the days when you had two choices...black or blue. It's like my comfort ink. ;-)

Franklin Christoph ink is made in the USA and bottled at their Raleigh, NC facility.

Cost is $12.50/59 ml or .21/ml. It can be purchased on the Franklin Christoph website.

The review follows. If you have any questions about Franklin Christoph Blue 72, fire away.

Hey Vis!

I think the main reason I like it is because it's so well behaved, cleans easily out of several pens I used it in and it's not that bland, light, chalky blue that a lot of companies use as their standard, throwaway blue. It on the darker side like Akkerman's Shocking Blue or Noodler's Blue. Distinctive. And as I said in my review..."it's my comfort blue".

On my monitor, there's so much yellow/green in most of the scans that I can't really tell much about the color of the ink. Is there any way to correct this?

Sorry about the photos, JM. I'm really having trouble getting my monitor/camera to agree with my eyes. Here's another go at it.

Much better, thanks! That's a nice looking blue with a hint of purple.
