Franklin Christoph Classic Black

The ink I'm reviewing today is Franklin Christoph's Classic Black. This ink replaces their first generation Black Magic which caused problems due to significant feathering. Classic Black is a well behaved, moderately saturated ink with a touch of grey in light spots. It is well lubricated with excellent flow in the pens I used. FC states on their website that the pH is approximately 8.0, making this an alkaline ink. Cost is $12.50/59 ml or .21/ml. All Franklin Christoph products can be purchased from their website.

Franklin Christoph ink is made in the USA and bottled at their Raleigh, NC facility.

Agree, Vis. I'm much more a fan of their old Black Magic ink even if it did feather. Although the website says water resistant...not on my simple test. For me, black is Noodlers Old Manhattan Blackest Black, Aurora or the very kinky Bung Box Black of Scores. This ink (as you often say) is boring.
