Sailor (Pen & Message) Shuurushi (Red Urushi)

Shu-urushi means red urushi, or red lacquer. It's a nice red with a slightly purple tint that I'd love to used in a red lacquered Nakaya (which I don't have, sadly).

Sample

It seems not as wet as some other Sailor inks, but it's in no way dry.

A few similar hues compared.

I like this a lot! I suppose it's almost impossible to get in this hemisphere?

I do like this ink. Is this the only "usable" red made by Sailor?

I'm still trying to figure out how to list all my pens down here.

Thanks for the review. This definitely looks interesting.

Is it me, or is this a fairly good match for the MB Alfred Hitchcock?

I was thinking it would be a good match for J Herbin Rouge Hematite, given the sheen.

I will say no. There is a definite pink element in this red which Hitchcock doesn't have.

Sheen and shading along with a hint of pin make it spectacular. Lot going on. I like Red Dragon and Hitchcock, but this is a more complex and

intriguing even ink. Too bad it isn't more readily available.

well what can we say about the availability latest rumors we had was that the company that produces the funnel bottles for sailor went down under, next because of this supply chain problem Ishimura Osamu has a large problem on his hands because he's the only one mixing these inks... almost 150 of them and is BACK ORDERED minus the people who has ordered their own custom inks from the ink clinic :X

I guess we can also understand how it seems to be in nathan tardiff's shoes
