Is The Cf Converter Rare/collectible?

Force, not quite correct, they were not the entry. They had the glass cartridges before.

But likely the first plastic ones.

Those caps would be nice to be able to exert pressure when piercing the cartridge.

Hi D.ick yes i did mean plastic.

My wife worked on the pen counter (she was the only one) in W H Smith back in the 70's and she always told me 'DONT push the cartridge into the section, let the barrel ease it in while screwing it on'. Her claim to fame was serving Bob Monkhouse when he came in for ink. Was that a Whoopdedo I heard..

They do at the business end. I suspect Dutchpen's are a later version. If you Google 'Waterman C/F Cartridges' them view Images you will find both versions shown with C/F pens.

The cf cartridges I have are a later version indeed.

I also have some of the boxes. Is says waterman CF on there too.

I used some of these cartridges when I had a CF pen without problems.

The connection part is the same. The converter connection is also the same as these cartridges.

I have what must be an older version of this pen. I used shellac to attach a sac to the inside of where the cartridge fits in. It has worked for many months now. No leaks.

CF converters are easily found in eBay at $40. The Lady Waterman also fits and may be available from Waterman direct. Also, pentooling.com still has a supply, I bought mine there. Much better than eBay. That kind gentleman is also working on fabricating new refills for the CF ballpoint which can no longer be found.

On June 2nd you posted photos of some CFs that have chalk marks. I'm trying to catalog CF models and trying to make sense of the chalk marks. Often they have a 4th line with three character codes (e.g., K13). Do your pens have a 4th line of codes and if yes, would you post them?

Slightly OT: I saw a C/F in an antique store (in gold plate) and the design combined with the *shiny* looked terrific.

My only experience of Waterman is the 452.

So - how does it write? Please explain it in terms understandable to a person who thinks that the Esterbrook LJ is the peak of human achievement. ;-)

Hi. I saw your PM and was in the hospital when it came, then it slipped my mind... sorry.

No fourth line on mine at all. I got mine it was NOS and had never been inked. The last line could say $16.50 or $15.50 but I am pretty sure it says $16.50 F.T.I (Federal Tax Included), but it seems unlikely that the chalk marks could be that well preserved but only missing a 4th line. I am using it with the chalk marks on it and they are hanging in there. I love so many things about the pen, and this is a very good one, flex, top of the line, I no corrosion or plating loss. I like that thick gold ass-end finial but the pen is just too thin for my hands so I don't use it that much and my Waterman 503 has more flex.
