Tennis In Blue

Alexcat

Recommended Posts

Apologies if I should have posted this elsewhere, and also for being a little(or a lot)OT.

I'm watching the tennis, and Rafael Nadal is wearing an outfit which is the exact shade of blue I want in an ink. Like sky blue, only more saturated.....mouth-wateringly blue, blue.....

And today is my 60th birthday, and a year ago today my husband had the final stroke which was to lead to him leaving on May 29th. So, thus is a surreal, difficult time, and I am keeping myself busy in ways I can.

And apologies again if this is too personal.....but I do love that blue( and I am not by nature a blue lover....red, red, the brighter and bloodier, the better).....

I'll leave the suggestions to the experts, but I can link some photos of the outfit I think you're referring to.

I hope you are well, all the best.

Thank you, for the good wishes, and the pictures to show the colour(I love that colour....but he's not really my cup of tea as far as tennis players go. Im more of a fan of Francesca Schiavone, and the wonderful though now retired Amelie Mauresmo)

I just gotta say, this is going to be an awesome topic. "Recommend me an ink color that matches this outfit." :D

(Also, Sailor Souten might come close. At least to the section near the waistband of the shorts, where it is a little darker. It's not quite as "baby blue" like the shirt though.)

Current Wishlist:

Visconti, Visconti, and...more Visconti! (And some ST Duponts too). (Ok fine, getting on the Omas and Montblanc trains now too. Toot toot.) (And maybe on the Montegrappa one too, but only for the Miyas.)

Jarkko Niemenen(sp?) appears to be wearing tartan shorts ....ok, who knows of a tartan ink, then? (I know....just trying a feeble attempt at humour.... )

I'm not the expert but the only sky blue I have is iroshizuku ama-Iro. It'll look less saturated in a fine nib compared to the picture (an old picture). Written with noodler's ahab.

I only caught the last set of that match, so while Rafa may have started out in diamine turquoise, by the end he was a very sweaty ku-jaku.

Have a fantasic birthday, Alexcat.

Happy Birthday! I hope you will find the shade you are looking for. I feel like Diamine must have something nearby.

Maybe Steel Blue? http://www.gouletpens.com/IS-D7011/p/IS-D7011

Or turquoise? http://www.gouletpens.com/IS-D7003/p/IS-D7003

The turquoise looks like "the very dab"(trans.: "just the thing").....thank you :)

Thank you, and yes....heh....I get he's never been called "a very sweaty ku-jaku" before(.and likely won't again, but that appeals to me)

Thanks for the smile, and the kind wishes

Let's see if I can even remember. From left to right: C/F, Concorde, Lauréat, Phileas, Expert, Préface, Gentleman, Opera. I think that's it for that tray.
