well, since this thread is still alive and kicking, for those of us who are on the fence whether to go for the M1000, here is another picure that will hopefully tilt the balance towards the enigmatic bird.

Do the former, you won't regret it. Pelikan makes some very nice pens.

Close you eyes and jump in , the Pelikans are already swimming and waiting for you , if you like to ease yourself in and dip a toe instead of a dive, try the M215 Lozenge (Rhombus) inexpensive, beautiful, workhorse. At least that's how I transitioned from the kid's section to the deep-end so to say; but I see you are brave, Go for it - an M800 or a M1000.

I missed this thread previously. That is a wonderful bird that you have there made all the more exquisite by your awesome photography. Makes me all the more envious as the M1000 is still the one major hole in my collection to date. I will look upon your photos and continue to dream. Thanks for sharing.

There is no doubt that a guy like you needs and M1000 (and an M1005). I do like the springiness of the bigger nib, but for longer writing sessions, I prefer a smaller Pelikan.
