The downtown boutique is actually a fairly new store. It was open on Saturday. There is an older store in Laval. Maybe they are working on the website or it's down for some other reason. No idea how the Montreal store is doing in general. If it isn't doing well MB may regret having pulled their products from a lot of highly qualified independent dealers.

The store in Carrefours Laval was open when I was there about 2-3 weeks ago. I am pretty sure there's a problem with their website...although I know if I go to check, I'll be walking out with a larger-than-expected bill.

Yes, curiosity bankrupted the cat.

Good to hear they are still there. I liked their website because the pricing was straight up like the MB.com site.

Montblanc Boutiques are very dangerous places for a fountain pen addict like me.

Trust me, pen shows are worse!;)

Just to follow up, I visited the downtown Montreal MB boutique yesterday. They boutique is alive & well and expecting to receive the "Blue Hour" collection (pens & ink) sometime in early June. (I'll be visiting them to reserve at least one bottle of the LE ink...)

I am also on the list to be notified of Blue Hour ink's arrival.

My local AD will get me two bottles in July or August. I can wait. There is enough blue ink in my life.

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.

Ah, but how to get it processed - that is the question. I believe that the last machine able to run K-14 (Kodachrome processing) ceased to operate some 15 or so years ago. Perhaps the film will be worth something as a curiosity in my estate sale when I die. 😺

Take a lot of photos!   If the film has deteriorated or 'gone off' in any way, you can use that as a 'feature' to take 'arty' pictures - whether of landmarks, or people, or whatever.
