Well I'm now signed up. Keeping my fingers crossed that I don't end up having some other commitment that day.

Was anyone here at the 2014 one in Boston?

Or do you know where it was held (and did that venue work?) and about how many people attended?

TIA!

Carolyn

Okay, I've registered for Philadelphia.

Welcome aboard.

I am registered for Beantown (Boston, that is). Looking forward to it -- and meeting our intrepid leader, Carolyn. (BTW, Carolyn: Boston Pen People often meet at the Holiday Inn in Somerville, if that is of any interest to you?)

Registered to attend in Dallas. It's the Wednesday the week of the Dallas Pen Show, so that's pretty awesome. I'm hoping we'll get a pretty good attendance since people would just have to come in a few days early for the Pen Show to go to the Hub.

So I haven't been to one of these before. Does Pelikan mandate any specific elements, or is it pretty much up to the Hub Master?

Actually, September 25 is on the Friday of the Dallas Pen Show, so no one has to come early.

Thank you for the information, Christopher!

Somerville sounds great!

I look forward to meeting everyone.

Intrepid Carolyn :)

I,ve just registered for the Philadelphia Pelican Hub gathering. Sounds exciting.

This date, Sept. 25th, will be a great incentive for me to become mobile. I am having a hip replacement surgery July 20th!

Keep on writing, Pete. :)

Wow, 82 registrants for Taiwan, I'm impressed. 5 in Seattle and 24 in Portland, I am halfway between so chose Portland, wonder which brewpub it will be held in.

I am bummed. I was really hoping you'd come to Seattle ...

:crybaby:

But hey, thanks for the update.

Are you the hub jockey for Seattle? Send me an email message and we can discuss. I'm not 'anti-Seattle' (grew up there graduated from Garfield HS) but traffic etc being what it is, Seattle is a hard draw, but hey I can be persuaded.

Email sent! Let me know if you've not received it ...

Unfortunately, when the weather is good, Friday afternoon traffic on I-5 between Portland and Seattle is truly horrific. (This is probably the best reason to have a Hub in both cities.)

And Friday rush hour traffic within the cites themselves is definitely a critical issue for selecting a Hub's venue. Along with parking. Etc.

Yes, thank you, 'Fish, for the link!

It seems to me that those west coast bods are quicker on the draw than us back east: look at those figures for Portland, LA and San Francisco!

Seattle has the Starbucks' Roastery (which I have yet to visit). /sigh

I was just in Seattle... and somehow missed the roastery. I have a friend that wandered in there by accident and he had an amazing time.
