Woohoo! I got it! Quite an impressive pen and very impressive packaging! Pictures to follow soon. I got the 1.5 mm stub nib and the pen is clipless with shiny blue-black rippled Ebonite. It writes very smooth and very bold! If I'm going to be writing a lot with it, I may want to use it as an eyedropper filler. That converter is going to run dry pretty quickly.

There even was a bonus pen included in the box...a very attractive little "Fellowship Blackbird" eyedropper pen in swirly orange translucent plastic.

I'm a happy camper!

Ranga Bamboo, Blue-Black Swirled Ebonite, Glossy Finish, No Clip, 1.5 mm JoWo Italic/Stub Nib, Cartridge/Converter

 

The packaging was quite interesting! It's wrapped in fabric (cotton?), stitched together, and sealed with red sealing wax.

 

 

Inside the wrapping was a nice snap-lid box.

 

 

Inside was the Ranga Bamboo, a bonus Fellowship Black Bird eyedropper pen, and an eyedropper.

 

 

Finally unwrapped!

Mine is here as well, I did not think to take pictures of the wrapped box, but my experience is similar to Snargle's. My pen too is blue ripple, in this case it's a dropper filled so no converter, and it came with the stock nib which I've swapped out in favor of a larger IPG (Iridium point germany) nib. I've filled it with Private Reserve Midnight blues, which to my mind exactly matches the color of the pen. A joy to write with...

It came so soon to my delight

have soaked the pen in water + mild detergent and will do a dip test tomm

Well, maybe I got lucky... and it did not take as long as it usually does...

Statistics would suggest that sometimes my luck must change for the better, too.
