Ohto Tasche Nib And The Number 16

Hello. In looking at my Ohto Tasche under magnification, I discovered the number 16 on the underside of the nib. Does anyone know whether this number have any significance, like nib type or anything like that? Being able to get a better nib for this pen from some third party would be really neat, that's why I am asking.

It may simply be the mold number for that feed.

I have to go look at mine.

tache uses number 4 schmidt nibs so ideally you can use the ones on the TWSBI classic and TWSBI mini also Faber-Castell nibs from the Basic to Ondoro line

Thanks for your comments. At the moment I have only been able to locate TWSBI nibs, which cost twice the price of a tasche pen, though perhaps it might be worth it if the fit is perfectly snug to the feed.

Found a single reference on this site to the effect that schmidt nibs are actually from Bock or JoWo?Something like that.

 

Have you personally tried swapping tasche nibs with one of those to see how well they work? I ask because I tried putting a kaweco nib on my tasche pen once, it worked, but the ink flow was too wet, so I guess the fit to the feed was not snug enough, and the opposite didn't work (the tasche nib wouldn't fit the kaweco pen at all).

I chucked in a Faber-Castell nib which is crazy smooth... but the feed was dry... I would opt to put in the feed from F-C as well as it seems that feed is wetter
