I just had an idea. Could you use Blue Ghost to dye clothing? Like for parties or bars/clubs?

I haven't tried it. Let us know when you do.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Don't know where to start?  Look at the Inky Topics O'day.  Then, see inks sorted by color: Blue Purple Brown Red Green Dark Green Orange Black Pinks Yellows Blue-Blacks Grey/Gray UVInks Turquoise/Teal MURKY

Haha. I walked into that experiment didn't I? I may try a washcloth and wash it in the sink before I throw it in the washing machine.

Even if you wash it off the paper, the ink still shows under UV light. So, let's see if it reacts eternal to fabric.

I went ahead and bought a bottle, it's still on the way. It came with everything, pen, ink, and even a little black light! It should arrive by Tuesday.

I have a Noodler's chart, and for Blue Ghost it say's it's UV resistant, bleach resistant, Archival, fade resistant, Impervious to lasers, alcohols, solvents, partially or fully waterproof and glows under UV light. It isn't lubricated and is not freeze resistant. I'd say that's a go to dye cloth! Apparently this isn't their only UV ink, Atlantic Salmon, Blue Nose Bear, Dostoyevsky, Dragon Catfish green, orange, pink, El Lawrence, Empire Red, Esenin, Firefly, Fox, General of the Armies, Georgia Peach, Hellfire, Hunter, Kung Te-Cheng, Lightning Blue, Luxury Blue, Manjiro Nakahama Whaleman's Sepia, Pasternak, Qin Shi Huang, Rachmaninoff, St Patty's Eire, Sunrise, Tchaikovsky, Whiteness of the Whale, and Year of the Golden Pig all are listed as florescent, and quite a few of them have the same resistant properties as Blue Ghost. Makes me want to shine a UV light on all my inks to see if they fluoresce! :)

I have Hellfire and WotW,and they don't glow like Blue Ghost. I wondered if it's because the fluorescent ink is being overshadowed by the colored dye.

Like putting cream into coffee. It's still brown, but if you add enough cream it will be a khaki color.

If only more reviews were less technical and more interesting and fun to read like yours. Only from this interview am I going to buy Blue Ghost.

Edit: Purchased. Thanks for the review. I really like the password idea.

It is completely invisible unless it's under a black light. I've not tried holding it under heat(like lemon juice) but that's not supposed to make it visible.

Would that phone-flash-hack involving 3 pieces of transparent tape, a blue Sharpie, and a purple Sharpie make it visible? This:

I think that hack is only intended to bring out the reflection in fluorescent objects (Like an orange hunting vest).

I've tried the hack you mentioned hoping it would work and if I remember correctly Blue Ghost won't react to it.

According to the Noodler's properties guide on Goulet's site, a lot of Noodler's inks that are fluorescent only reflect on certain UV wavelengths.

I got lucky and found a cheap black light that makes every fluorescent Noodler's ink I have glow. At least so far.

That's true, for example, Upper Ganges and Luxury Blue look a lot a like, but they react to different UV wavelengths.

Amber, I think you mentioned in a post somewhere (I looked and can't find it anymore) that you could use Blue Ghost to blend with inks to make them lighter and improve their ink behaviour?

Also it seems that this would be a great ink to draw images on faces, hands, arms, etc when you are going to a party that will have black lighting. Or words like "Don't Touch" where appropriate...

You sure that wasn't "Whiteness of the Whale"?

I have a bottle of this and gave the same to my brother. A pen pal and I use this in letters. I got a better flashlight style black light to read the writing. Mine came in a set with a pen and ring-style mini black light.

Whiteness of the whale can look yellow on some pages.

Yes, I use this ink to add to an ink that just isn't performing correctly. It makes the other ink a little drier and a lot more permanent.

I like the idea of using it for keeping track of passwords! That will help me a lot!

I wouldn't use Blue Ghost as a permanent solution for your passwords... it does disappear completely on the page eventually, even if stored in the dark. :o(

Misfit, where did you buy your set? I've been interested in this ink and I might invest in it with my tax returns.

Also, I plan on using it for a bunch of stuff! I'm going to use it to write in my journal, for personal notes, for a novelty with a penpal, to keep a list of passwords and private info, and for writing notes in my books.

I am the tarot reading, bookworm, whiskey drinking, witchcraft practicing, old fashioned writing, aunt Beasty in my family and I love it. Tarot readings for sale or trade, especially ink as I've lost all of my pen stuff from a bad burglary last year. And I need penpals! Anyone interested, please PM me!

I got this ink for the novelty factor, but haven't loaded a pen with it yet. I think it would be interesting to load a demonstrator pen with it and then write while illuminated by the black light.

Also, I wonder if you could write a regular note in a blue ink that's close to the color of the blacklight, then write with Blue Ghost right on top. If the blue ink doesn't show under the black light, it'll make the Blue Ghost totally readable.
