Quadrupod: Origins And Theories

Interesting old thread! I went through Rosemary Sassoon's book a while ago (basically a decade ago, at this point!) when I was trying to repair my handwriting. In terms of biomechanics her grip is inarguably better than all of the standard ways of holding a pen. I tried to make it my way of holding the pen, but I just couldn't do it. Pen-holding is grooved *way* down deep in my brain; I thought if I just tried it long enough that eventually it would become automatic, but it never did. Every time I picked up a pen I had to make a conscious decision to adjust my grip, and writing required constant active monitoring. I eventually gave up and went back to my normal way, which is a pretty standard and slightly squeezy tripod grip.
