Inkograph Repair?

Does anybody have inkograph parts out any inkograph? I have a grey and gold trim inkograph. For identification The patent is #70-200, the ends have concentric circles and a bevel, the grip has five series of lines that go long-short-long, and the weight/wire is metal and clear plastic. The wire is wonky at the base and there is a kink at the end. Right now it is writing really dry and I can't seem to fix it.

If anybody wants to buy a FPR triveni, a waterman's crusader with a modified barrel, or faber castell pitt brush pens I have one just for you!

You should be able to straighten the kink out. Probably that's why why it's running dry because insufficient wire is protruding from the tube.

I tried straightening it out but it would not remain straight, it is more of a curve than an angle.

Take two pieces of flat steel at least 1/8" thick so that it's rigid. I use the bottom of my nib block against a steel plate. Put the wire between the pieces and while supporting with the weight with the fingers of your other hand slide the top piece back and forth which will roll the wire between them. This will straighten the wire and take any kinks out of it. Supporting the weight is important so that it doesn't flop around and snap off of the wire.

Don't try to use a piece of hard wood or acrylic sheet. It's not hard enough. Aluminum might work, but steel is harder so more effective.
