Sailor Storia Clown Yellow Green (Pigmented Nano-Particle Ink)

Sailor has recently released a new line of ink, the STORiA inks, which are pigmented nano-particle inks like Sei-boku and Kiwa-guro.

I've review Fire Red, Night Blue and Dancer Pink.

It's quite a nice yellow green when it's wet, but sadly it dries to a pale colour.

Writing sample

This writing sample shows how poorly these pigmented inks flow compared to other Sailor inks. I used a Pilot 742 Music nib which is a somewhat dry nib. Often the ink just refuses to flow. Look at the word "SHADING", you may see that I've written on the paper many times before the ink actually flowed onto the paper. I've since then added a trace of Photo-flo and it flows much better now.

The word "Yellow Green" under "sample" is written with a dip pen. Water-resistance is as expected.

Comparison

All my greens compared. But my scanner is not very accurate so take the comparison with caution.

Final words

Had this ink flowed better I'd like it more. If you have this ink, use it in a wet pen. I just don't understand how Sailor could make a rich, saturated and well-flowing pigmented Sei-boku but failed at this line of inks. They are the opposite of Sei-boku: pale colour and mediocre flow.

These Storia inks are quite underwhelming. I had such great expectations.

I'm still trying to figure out how to list all my pens down here.

This looks like an ink for drawing. For writing... not so much. The one bright, fresh-looking green ink I have is Iroshizuku Chiku-rin (thanks to Joi). I don't use it much, but when I do, I really like it. Not for paragraphs, though.

A little too bright.

Right i would go for the upper 5 sailors...

Man the more sailor inks I see the more I want

Tricked throughout the centuries...

For centuries people had been tricked by kings & "religion-alism"

In the 20th century people got tricked by communism

Today people get tricked by (neo)capitalism :)

Though this green is not "my cup of tea" your short ink comparison is helpful. But thank you for your review which gives actually a better impression of the ink as it is when you are confronted with it...

Sailor does some really great greens, but I concur that this just isn't one of them.

It's probably just as well; My wife is terrified of clowns.

I'm always bummed by how they look when dry. Thank you for sharing.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).
