She has a cap!

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/173263176/winkpens-write-with-wine-juice-or-tea-get-creative/posts/1240445

9 days left in the campaign.

I want to try this pen out with fiber dyes. I'd like to make cards with matching knit or crochet motif and writing. Or just be able to present a gift of a hand-made item where the card matches the yarn.

Yep, the screams were loud and clear, and she was listening. Probably didn't take too many "I would sponsor if it had a cap"?

Confirmed no caps by the creator on the kickstarter comments.

Looks like there was enough support for caps to convince the creator to add a cap to the pen. The kickstarter's page has been updated... now where's my card :D

i add three months extra to any kickstarter and hope to be surprised in getting it two months over

There's your safe bet. I've yet to back a Kickstarter project that came out on time. I waited a year and a half for one - a miniature wargame. The rules sucked, the models were difficult to put together, and it flopped at the retail level. I did pick up an utterly fantastic ultralight titanium backpacking stove on KS though.

Several Topics have been merged with this one (which I believe is the first about this pen project).

I hope it succeeds as to be honest it the most innovative fountain pen for a long time and is actually trying to do something different rather then your typical kick starter pen which just some fancy barrel with at best some generic bock or Jowo nib.

It's just a shame she didn't introduce it with the cap. I think thats what put me off and many others.

But NOW it does include a cap. When I decided not to back it I wrote her and told her why, and asked that if she added a cap--during the Kickstarter or after, that she let me know. As soon as she posted the update about the cap, she messaged me through Kickstarter. I appreciate that she listened to the comments and responded to them. That she decided to add the cap without increasing the cost is a plus.

I hope it gets funded but it's not looking likely.

I only noticed the other day that international shipping is $25?! Absolute robbery.

I grant you that it is a novel idea. However, I don't drink tea, coffee, or wine. I suppose I could load it up with Kool-Aid, but then I already have too many inks I want to try as it is.

I hope she gets funded and is able to pull it off.

I have a vintage glass nib fountain pen, but with a converter, this would be more convenient.

IMHO, the hard thing will be to make a good glass nib. Some of the glass dip pens that I tried did not work very well, for me.

Now that it has a cap, I think I'll get on board next payday. though I really do hope it comes with an option for a nib that isn't a F or Calligraphy. I would much prefer just a straight M or B.

The nib appears to be reversible, so hopefully 2 nib sizes. I'm hoping for a F+B nib.

But I do not think that making the glass nib has a lot of precision, unless it is molded.

Her funding is almost there, so close.

update 5/28/15 @ 1311 PDST.

She made it! Funding has hit the $47k mark.

Now she has to manufacture the pen.

I'm not going to back, but I am interested in updates. I hope someone will continue to update this thread as news trickles out to backers. I'd be curious to see how her timetable works out.

Same here. I just can't see the practicality. Novelty? Most definitely.
