The Stone Mask Fountain Pen

I showed my pen to a friend, who immediately wanted me to get a dozen more of them so she could create a "Fountain Pen Easter Island" diorama. I told her I didn't have that kind of money -- but that I'd pass the idea on to 18111 as an advertising idea. ;)

HaHaHa... a "Fountain Pen Easter Island" diorama would be a good idea!

Wow, what a cool design! Looks like it would be comfortable to hold as well. I don't think JoWo nibs are as good as those from Pilot or Platinum but in my experience they're certainly better than Bock. Having a choice of finish is nice - I like having some texture on the section.

Too bad I can't afford it right now. Doesn't really help that customs have gone from occasionally charging 25% VAT to seemingly always charging it and adding some other fee when they're feeling extra evil.

There is a really nice, and large, model train museum near us. They have multiple gigantic layouts, all with working trains. Of course, the miniature landscaping is very cool. I've thought about going over there and seeing if someone could build me a pen holder that looked like the cliffsides/hillsides on Easter Island. I figured they could make a hold deep enough for just the mask to be showing, just like the statues on the island. I might laugh my head off if I ever got that made!

Then you'll need to buy at least a dozen more to make the scene realistic. :D

Hah! I think, in that case, I'd opt to set aside the money in a fund to take a trip to Easter Island. And take my pen with me! ;)

@JonSzanto One of my hobbies is miniature wargaming. You could probably commission a piece from a terrain builder. I make your basic hills, walls, fences and standing stones. I haven't done any statue pieces myself, but I don't think it would be terribly expensive. Just another option aside from the model railway folks.

Thanks, Bard, I'll keep it in mind! I just swapped the JoWo nib out for a 1.1 stub I had, works very well. I'm going to try to take some photos this weekend.

It's not that creepy in person. It only weirds me out when the clip speaks to me.

Just received my Stone Mask Pen in the polished version. Amazing that this was created on a 3D printer. It is a beautiful and unique pen that writes very smoothly. I couldn't be more pleased. Very tempted to get another in the unpolished version.

Well done, Mr. Nakama!
