Sailor Cicada Vs Tea Vs Park Vs Mountain. Four Rare Greens

Several folks have seen my reviews for some of the Sailor Japanese exclusive inks and wanted to see a comparison. In a four-way comparison there are

 

Kingdom Note Tanna japonesis "Evening cicada"

Bungbox 88 Green Tea

Kobe #28 Suzuran Green

Ishida bungu Hakodate yama "Hakodate mountain"

 

The Kingdom Note ink is a nice olive green. The "88" has been seen before in comparison with BB Dandyism. Kobe #28 is a very good yellow-green. In these pics it appears darker than in actuality. The Ishida bungu is quite bright compared to the others, and appears like a blue-green, but I think it's a tint of that hue.

 

Done on both Mohawk via Linen and Hammermill 28lb Inkjet paper.

 

One will give a recipe for Provencal garlic soup, the other some Tibetan visionary mythology of the 15th century master Tangtong Gyalpo.

Hmmm, on this scan I like Suzuran Green most. Thank you for this. I wonder whether you would be able to make close-ups?

Thank you!! The side by side comparison of the store exclusives is very helpful especially when trying to limit ink spending. Tanna Japonsensis is still my favorite, so I'm happy it's the one I have out of the 4

gylyf you are definitely in trouble if you stray beyond the blues but Tanna is worth it

Nope, can't do it! It's blue or bust. I'm not even halfway through my list, so the other colors are going to have to wait their turn (or so I keep telling myself...).

Cicada and Suzuran I have... cause they are "my" kind of green... ..... BB88 is on its way to mama.... cause is "my" kind of green too...

 

Hakodate Mountain.. is too blue for my liking. I can see is a nice looking ink... but when put side by side with their gorgeous sisters... well, it looks like the ugly duckling

Yes indeed. Hakodate Mountain is definitely the outlier. And being with the other three it really stands out. At first I was a bit shocked at how "bright" it seemed, but I'm used to it now. And it's not really retina-searing ink. Enjoy!

You are right to have a strategy with these inks! They should come with a "slippery slope ahead" warning

Cyber6 - Did you ever get a bottle of Pen and Message Quadrofolio (sp?). I'm surprised with all this talk of murky greens it's name has not been mentioned. Perhaps it has become unobtainable, too.

Quadrifoglio is not a murky green. Main reason why I don't have a bottle.

As far as I know Tanna Japonensis is now no longer available. I had two sources for it (one being cooljapan) and both have come back to say it is not available and Sailor haven't given any indication if it will produce more

I have one bottle of the precious liquid which I am guarding with my life. Problem now is, I'm afraid to use it!
