History Of The Legacy "fantasy"?

During my roamings around the web the past few days I happened upon a beautiful Sheaffer Legacy "Fantasy" and I was just wondering if anyone knew the backstory to that/those beautiful pens?? I believe the barrel was turned by Franklin Christoff, but besides that little tidbit I am stumped for knowledge.

Somewhere here on FPN, I spied a gorgeous orange acrylic barreled Sheaffer Legacy I, and I'm also wondering if there are other "Fantasy" versions out there in the wild? Are these even official Sheaffer releases? In any event, I'm completely mesmerized!

Actually IIRC the body was turned by a young Jim Rouse (not the developer) and they were sold through Franklin Christoph. None were official Sheaffer issues.

There have been some Sheaffer Legacy family "fantasy" series that were Sheaffer offerings, those from Classic Pens, Jim Gaston, the Fred 'Force 10' Targas come to mind.

Thanks Jar, that's interesting to know. I hadn't ever considered that one could get a custom barrel made for an already finished pen...in the case of these Sheaffers I'd say it turned out very well. I wonder how many Jim Rouse made?

Terim at Peyton Pen does several matings of Sheaffer nibs to Indian bodies IIRC.
