Day 44: The moment Hyousuke chooses his life with Hajime. When he believed the man to be dead, he was broken. But life goes on, and he started to build a life for himself, shoddy as it was. He had feelings for the waitress of The Bent Willow, even if they were just idle dreams, and when the man came back into his life, those dreams needed to be broken.

Excerpt:

"Guess I oughta get going," he said, the words slightly cut off by the fierce hug of Miyuki's arms, so unexpectedly wrapped around him from behind.

"You really are a good man," she said, her arms so white against the dark blue of his borrowed jacket.

The daydream image he had of the two of them returned to Hyousuke then, her arm lightly supported by his, hands clasped, as they walked in wedding attire through a red gate. The phantom versions of them stopped walking down the path when he spoke.

"Thanks. Hey.. Miyuki?"

"Yes?" her voice came muffled against his back.

"I'm not going to be around as much as I used to."

I cried writing this scene at the time. T^T The song that inspired it is "If Not You Then Who" by Mark Redito (f.k.a. Spazzkid).

Day 45: How Hajime and Hyousuke spent Valentine's Day.

Day 46: Hajime and Hyousuke's first meeting didn't go so well..

Excerpt:

As Fujimoto Hajime passed through the gate beside Lord Fujiwara, the pair on horseback, he noticed one of the guards leaning on his spear casually and looking bored--a very young man with pointed ears. His features contorted in irritation.

"Stand at attention," he barked, snatching the spear as he rode by and causing the young guard to fall to a knee, hands slapped in dirt to keep himself from falling full upon the road.

"Who's the jerk with the weird hair and a branch up his [...]?" Hyousuke righted himself and sneered out the side of his mouth to the other guards, San and Yume, who stood near his side.

Toshida overheard from his spot just beside the open gate. He lashed out with a loose fist and whacked the yousei soundly atop the head, his voice sharp when he spoke, "Your new sword master. Now shut your mouth and do as he says."

Hajime looked over his shoulder during the exchange, only to be met with a look of defiance. Something about the youth's wild gaze unsettled him.

Day 47: Hannya's house cat. xD

She doesn't have a name, Hannya merely calls her "the cat." And she doesn't speak, so there's no telling who she really is, and if she's silent by choice or due to lack of ability.

Like a typical stray, this cat demon showed up at his mansion one day and stayed there. He tried kicking her out at first, but she always found a way back inside.

Hyousuke is a bit creeped out by her, especially when she latches onto him whenever he comes to visit the yakuza lord, as part of the covert mission against him.

Day 48: Hyousuke's former comrades, Yume and San.

San, a tiger demon, and Yume, a snow sprite, were fellow guards at the Fujiwara palace, and served as Hyou's mentors when he was new amongst their numbers.

 

They unfortunately died during the battle at Taira palace.

After that super crappy drawing from Day 5, I decided to revisit Marceline after all this practicin'. This is much, much better.

Day 50: Being an undercover agent isn't easy. Hyousuke has been coerced into giving up nearly his entire being, all that he his, for the greater good. After a point, it's hard to tell where he ends and his alias begins.

I don't draw full manga. These sketches and story tidbits are fun outlets, or extras, to the novel I'm writing (first draft still).

My reasons are multiple. Mostly, this entire website is full of negativity. In the last year, I have witnessed so much rudeness toward newer members, older members treating them like they're imbeciles for not knowing terminology or asking beginner questions. People getting into snobby arguments over absolutely nothing, making personal attacks over something so simple as PENS and INK.

 

I've moved on to a calmer, more helpful, and friendly community of pen collectors/users/enthusiasts.

I very much regret your decision TeaHive, also because your drawing are of great sweetness, but fully understand your reasons.

 

It was a pleasure to come acrosse your positivness, your talent, your beautiful pens.

Apparently I can not access the Facebook page you indicate (probably because I do not belong to the Facebook community), ergo I will not be able to follow your work in the futur.

 

Let us know when your novel will be published, please.

I, too, am saddened that you are offski. I have enjoyed admiring your talent. I always especially admire talent that is way beyond my own abilities (I get to see plenty of that in FPN!).
