A knockoff for sure, but I wonder if it would work as a direct replacement for the real thing... Not really willing to try it just to find out, though.

I saw that. Definitely doesn't look like genuine Pelikan production. I assumed it was some aftermarket replacement that somebody came up with. Not a fan of that ink window personally.

The description does not say if it is made by Pelikan. I would be suspicious.

This is very weird...knockoffs of piston filling pens are very rarely seen. Has anyone heard of or seen any knockoffs of an m800 before?

Very interesting and the shop is a very famous one in Taiwan. Definitely aftermarket but I have put the item on my watch list.

In case you wish to write to me, pls use ONLY email by clicking here. I do not check PMs. Thank you.

May not ship to Germany - ...is illegal....even close to brand name is illegal being sold in germany....is not a Pelikan piece.

Ransom Bucket cost me many of my pictures taken by a poor camera that was finally tossed. Luckily, the Chicken Scratch pictures also vanished.

It has been my understanding that piston fillers aren't often faked because of the complexity of the filling mechanism. Pelikans much less so than other brands due to the lack of high end brand name recognition. I think this is just a barrel, without a filling mechanism (but hard to be sure from the listing). I imagine that would be fairly easy to produce.

just to stretch the scope a litte...

has anybody come across nibs (non pelikan) that would fit pelikan bodies (m800's in particular)

Looks a like a Reform ink window on that. Reform made (makes?) ;ower tier German piston fill pens.

If you read the description, the seller is clear that it is a replacement barrel and not a Pelikan barrel:

Replacement barrel for Pelikan M-800

Brand new.

Not from Pelikan.

I don't think there can be any misunderstanding that it is genuine, since he never claims it is.

From the pictures, it looks like it is either an eyedropper barrel or it is missing the piston.

The description says "not from Pelikan", so I would think it safe to assume that it is aftermarket and not original Pelikan.

Agree that it's probably a low-cost aftermarket barrel replacement alternative. But wouldn't mounting an M800 nib on it be like installing a BMW/Mercedes engine in a Hyundai? No offense intended to Hyundai owners.
