Nib Block

Hello,

Since Mr. Steytler stopped producing his nib block, are there any other nib blocks available?

I just found this one at pentooling:

But I haven't found information about it's quality. I'd apreciate any information if someone already used it.

Thanks

Claude

I have Laurence Oldfield's set (penpractice) and love it.

Those are cool tools. Where can you learn what to do with them?

Looking for a black SJ Transitional Esterbrook Pen. (It's smaller than an sj)

Exactly what I said to myself when I got it. "Self", I said. "Now what?" I pulled out a few beater nibs, picked up one of the tools and it became readily apparent when to use convex v concave and when to use which burnishing tool. Great set. You'll want a decent vise to hold it, though, and a decent steady surface for the vise, so the only motion is your tool in your hand.

I personally use a nib block that was offered by Cathedral pens, UK a few years back. Made of silver steel the block is quite heavy, so it does not need additional holding arrangement like a vice etc...

You can read more about the block here, I bought my block from the first lot and I believe two more lots were subsequently produced, but I am not aware if the blocks are still available.

I'm afraid they are not. I looked at Cathedral pens website and also sent an e-mail, but it returned as unsent.

Their nib block looks very nice, too.

I'll phone Cathedral Pens today and ask them to put updated contact details on here, if they still have nib blocks to sell.

Ian informed me that they have just had a another batch of nib blocks manufactured, so yes they are available, best way to contact is Ian Williamson or Cathedral Pens on Facebook.
