Ink Review: Diamine 150Th Anniversary Tropical Green

I'm currently reviewing some of my favourite Diamine inks. This one is the green ink from the latest Diamine 150th Anniversary collection: Tropical Green

  • Bearing in mind the paper I use is very smooth, this ink dries reasonably quickly.
  • It flows quite wet and lubricates the nib well. No start-up problems noticed. No skipping noticed.
  • It didn't dry out when I left the cap off the pen while I did the swabs and the comparison inks.
  • It is currently available in wedge shaped 40ml glass bottles that don't have ink wells.
  • Water test on the review form shows this isn't a waterproof ink. It washes off skin very easily.
  • Diamine sell it directly to end-users on their web-site.

Your swabs make it look a lot like MB Irish Green, another green ink I like. Dark enough to be serious, green enough to be different.

I'm still trying to figure out how to list all my pens down here.

I would say Diamine Tropical Green is slightly lighter (and cheaper) than Mb Irish Green

Thanks for the clarification. I bought all the Diamine 150th Anniversary Inks, but I haven't opened any, yet. So many inks . . . .

In the USA, they cost $0.37/mL for the Diamine Anniversary Inks and $0.32/mL for the Mont Blanc. Regular Diamine is $0.16/mL. MB Permanent Inks are $0.47/mL and the Limited Editions are about $0.54/mL. MB Pink will be about $0.63/mL when one can find it.

As stated in many other posts, the cost per mL is somewhat misleading; it takes so little in to write a page or two.
