My First Rollerball R200: Refill Compatibility

Hi guys,

 

I had several rollerball refills lay abound and no rollerball pen. Then I saw relatively cheap R200s on ebay and I won one (green marble, old style?). It seems my refills are not exactly compatible with the pen. The cap that seals the refill screws back under some pressue and the tip of the refill comming out only for 2mm - that doesn't look like what I saw on other rollerball pens. I can write with the pen but it's not very convinient. Is this refill not compatible with my pen? Do I have to use only Pelikan refills?

Pelikan's 338 refills are 4.375 inches long from end to end. I favor using the brand specific factory refills but that's just me. I believe Monteverde and Schmidt make refills that will fit Pelikan. The Schmidt refills need to be the long model I believe. Your refills appear too short to use, at least without some modification. You have a nice rollerball. Good luck getting a proper refill for it. There are a few threads on this forum addressing different refill options for Pelikan if you do a search.

The only non Pelikan refill that I have found that fits is the MontBlanc refill made by Monteverde. The others have points that are just too thick to fit through the bottom hole in the pen.
