This query is an easy one since A5 is considered a standard size. Also, in looking at it you simply slide each end into it like a book cover. I hesitate to give the first suggestion, only because I believe the Massdrop for this which would have garnered you 3 refills for this cover would have been a terrific deal. The manufacturer's site has one of these for $14.50, plus shipping I think of $5.00

They come in lined, graph and plain paper

Others might have other suggestions, this is just to give you one idea. The size is really standard. What you need is a refill for this size A5 and one which is fountain pen friendly and does not bleed through to the other side much, if at all and does not feather, much, if at all.

The original journal is thick, yet it may not mean to use this leather journal cover you must have the same thickness. You simply have to have an A5 journal of your choosing which will fit this cover and which will not have a tremendous gap when you secure the straps. Just an observation. There are also Italian fountain friendly journal refills which will also work for this size leather cover.

One of the selections of a current Massdrop voting stage is a A4 Qua Vada Habana. Look into it as a refill. It looks like a hardcover with less pages and believe it is fountain pen friendly.

Actually a thicker journal is a plus for me, that's what I really meant.

 

I'm seriously thinking about the Seven Seas A5 series ... it's nice, thick with a ton of pages. But he is out of stock and the shipping on a single item is a killer :/

 

I'm beating myself up for not getting one while it was available on Amazon with prime shipping.
