I've been tracking it.....from Buenos Aires, Santiago, Campinas, Memphis, Stansted, Stoke......and just looked and the latest update is Edinburgh, in transit, so in theory, today.....

 

Squeeeeeee......

 

I so need a pickmeup : all the dark stuff, depression, agoraphobia, grief, panic, is coming in waves and seems never ending.....

 

Fingers, paws and whiskers crossed that I'll have photos soon.....it was done to my own specification.....

.grrrrrrr......I knew I was tempting providence! I think it's there at the Edinburgh depot, but, this being Saturday, it's unlikely to be delivered today. So, I would hope for Monday......any update and I'll be back, as the saying goes.....

I don't think so....Stansted and Stoke are both in England, so Im assuming it's the Edinburgh here, although nothing would surprise me! They're closed today, and ?I assume tomorrow, too, so hoping for Monday....

It arrived, and is beautiful.....here are some photos, while I decide what to ink it up with(will be keeping to a dedicated ink, so am taking my time)

 

The design is by my request.....the background represents pomegranate seeds: on the back of the cap, a copper pomegranate. On the front of the cap, below the clip, are the initials "AB", joined together, representing my own and my husbands initials.

 

On the barrel, in copper, a Unified Heart.....like a Star of David, with hearts rather than triangles; it's the symbol Leonard Cohen uses...Im a huge fan if his and his words and music give me a lot of comfort as well as enjoyment.

 

There's a burgundy 'jewel' on the top of the cap, and the base is burgundy.

Fantastic!!! I love all the thought you put into the pen and the way Mr. Kullock gave life to them, as well as the use of different metals. He is truly a genius with overlays. I know a little of your joy as I have one of his one-off overlays done on a Montblanc 146, and it is a treasure. Congratulations on a pen that is uniquely yours. DAVID

Thanks for all the lovely comments.....Im still deciding on the ink. Considering Diamine Red Drahon, or Syrah; seems sensible to go for one which is fairly common and UK available, rather than one I'll not be able to get again. Red is my favourite colour....and Im going for a bloody, deep red.

 

Any more suggestions very welcome, before I take the plunge.....

For nice deep reds, I like Diamine Syrah, and Diamine Oxblood.

I think you've hit it spot-on with Red Dragon and Syrah. RD certainly in the dark red category, Syrah a little more purple, both well behaved. Those red inks take a bit longer to flush out from a pen like this, so you'll probably not be swapping reds and blues back and forth a lot... unless you like purple! :)

Thank you, Suji and Jon: yes, I plan to have a 'dedicated ink' for it.....hence my being unusually (and with great difficulty) patient in waiting before filling and going for a test write.....

 

I'm quite partial to Diamine in any case.....easy to get in the UK, lots of choice, good quality, and reasonable price. A good combination.

I'd go Oxblood, it would suit your stunning pen perfectly, lovely warm and rich, with a "classy" appearance when written.

 

It would be a stunning combo.
