There is a nice write up in today's Washington Post regarding the upcoming Baltimore show this weekend and Richard Binder. Nothing new really in the article but it's nice to see our world get a little exposure. The article is at http://wapo.st/1GnMIE8.

Nice article. Is the author hiding out here on FPN? Because obviously, if he's getting pens tuned by Richard at shows (and is friends with the guy from Betram's Inkwell), he's one of Us....

Sort of like the time a few years ago, when we were staying overnight in a hotel outside Carlisle, PA, and flipping channels to see what was on before the new episode of The West Wing came on. We ran across coverage of The Pennsylvania Farm Show (agriculture is actually the state's biggest industry), where the coverage was on the "sheep to shawl" competition that night. I was listening to the voiceover and thinking "wow, they actually found a reporter that had something of a clue" -- only to discover that in fact the "color commentary" was being done the guy who is the general manager of The Mannings, a store near York, PA that sells yarn and fiber equipment and supplies... (and who I have since met a couple of times, and when I was in the store with my husband a little over a year ago, *gave* -- not sold! -- a book on weaving looms and loom construction).

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."
