Pelikan 1000M Demonstrater Leaky Nib

This pen has a small but annoying leak around the nib. I have tried silicone grease and tightened the nib as much as I dare but the leak continues. I've attached a couple of pictures to illustrate the problem. Any advice will be much appreciated.

The pictures don't seem to be coming through. What type of ink are you using? Any chance of a small crack at the section? With the nib removed, a flashlight can sometimes show this. The nib only has to be finger tight in the section. Do you ever have ink on your fingers or is it just dripping from the feed?

Sorry, I'll try the pictures again. No, no ink on my fingers. I have tried Noodler's and De Atramentis inks with same results.

My black M1000 sometimes drips inks from the nib into the cap as well but I found that it is very dependent on what ink I'm using. Heavily lubricated inks (Noodler's would fall into that category, don't have any experience with De Atramentis) are much more prone to creep from the nib and drip into the cap. How do you carry the pen also makes a difference. If it jostles around a lot, the ink will get into the cap. I'd do what sarge advises and if there isn't a crack or something like that, I wouldn't worry too much about it. You might try changing the ink you use. Try using Pelikan 4001 inks, they are designed around Pelikan pens and they are somewhat drier. That may help with the issue.

I agree with canibanoglu. If the ink in the cap is the concern, this is actually not at all uncommon. The demonstrator just reveals it more than others. The type of ink can really affect this in addition to how the pen is carried. As long as it's not leaking blobs of ink on the paper or getting ink all over your fingers, there doesn't seem to be a major issue.
