Akkerman Lamy 27E

JF_LAMY Collection

Dear all,

After some time, when I had no time for this noble hobby of ours, I finally had chance to photograph another of my pens in my collection.

I am so glad, that LAMY got its own forum focused on this great brand. Thank you!

This time, I would like to present a LAMY 27e based pen made for the pen company called Akkerman.

Here are some pictures, if you are interested:

Lovely pen, thanks for showing.

If you see today's line up it is hard to believe this too is a Lamy....

Would not mind owning one...

That's a good-looking pen. Nice photos, you have a good collection. I wonder if that pen was made for Ackerman in the Netherlands. I have purchased their ink in the past and they are a pleasure to work with.

I'm still trying to figure out how to list all my pens down here.

Hello all,

Yes, it is piston filler. It is exactly the same pen as LAMY 27e, only marked Akkerman (clip and barrel).

In fact, I also have a LAMY 27e made for the German car maker OPEL.

(OPEL engraved into the clip - same as Akkerman here).

I found a brochure Akkerman issued while celebrating an anniversary of some kind stating:

“ … In the late 1920s, Akkerman formed a relationship that would grow more important over time with Carl Josef Lamy, who would, of course, later establish his own brand. In the late 1920s, though, Lamy was working for Osmia, which was then one of the most important German fountain pen brands. Parker was already established in England and in the Netherlands; seeking to expand further, Parker purchased Osmia and spent large sums to modernize the facilities and promote the brand. Akkerman wanted to have some pens made there, and Lamy became his collaborator on the Akkerman branded pens manufactured there from 1928 to 1930, most of them closely resembling the streamlined Parker Duofold. Due in large part to the Great Depression, the Osmia - Parker venture was not successful, and Parker soon sold it back to the former owners, leaving Lamy with limited options. He decided to produce his own pens, but he continued to manufacture the Akkerman pens in the Duofold style. Later he would produce Akkerman pens based on Lamy models, and the Lamy - Akkerman collaboration continued for decades … “

Kind regards,

Jan

I adore the Lamy 27 and have a 27n. That one is super. I wish Lamy would reissue the 27 in some kind of anniversary edition. I would lose my mind and wildly overpay for something like that if it was as good as the old ones.

My 27n is sidelined as the piston needs a lube job. I am afraid to do it myself.

Dear Ink Blotto,

Thank you for the kind words.

The case was given to me by my friend Debashish, who is always so kind to restore my pens. But I am not sure if these boxes are still around, because it was a long time ago. There is foam inside the box which surrounds the pen.

Kind regards,

Jan

WOW, I never thought of such an idea. There are car companies with their retro models (MINI, FIAT 500, even the new FORD MUSTANG ... ), so why not make a pen in such a style?

Nice idea, Ink-Syringe ... J

Kind regards,

Jan

Hi D.ick,

Oh, the house ... no, no, that is not my house J My friend built this house and left for USA to work there for Westinghouse, so I only took these pictures for him to show it to buyers. I week later it was “gone”, sold to a nice couple. Now the contract is being prepared to finalize the deal. After it is signed, pictures will be put down and only pens & cars will be on display (and the watch - vintage, factory restored, Czech PRIM watch).

But even without the house, I am still a pretty happy man J Thank you ... !

Hello Ink Blotto,

Well, it is quite a nice box and I believe Deb found these on eBay ...

There are plenty of pen box manufacturers; you should have no problem in finding one. I only prefer this box for shipping a pen. Feel like it is squeezed too much in it just for storage ... J Jan
