Kwzi Group Buy 3 - Here We Go Again... (North America And Uk) !

Ruth, as of yesterday when I replied, your package was delayed in Jersey. Haven't looked today (hell, I haven't seen a mirror yet and I've been going since 230), so, hoping it has moved along... I'm halfway to thinking that the first batch of shipping, when I had to cancel and re-issue, the replacement tracking numbers didn't make it out.

Be forewarned... I will eye-bang the bejeezus out of your pens...

We are very sorry for this ink outside the bottle. In truth this is not true leakage. During bottling it sometimes happen that few drops of ink fell on threads of the bottle, during air transport this one or two drops of ink may finds its way and touch protecting foil - after that capilary action take care of the rest :(

We are trying to prevent this from happening by wiping the threads of the bottles, but still a black sheep will always find its way ;/

I have a lot of tape - and I won't hesitate to use it!

Thanks for explaining. I was wondering how it got out, but the capillary action makes sense.

Fortunately, it cleans up easily, and I'm enjoying the ink.

Thanks again!

Or, in this case, a turquoise sheep. I'm surprised this doesn't happen more often with all the pressure changes, temperature changes, and general shaking, rattling, and rolling involved in intercontinental shipment.

I signed a batch of permission slips for students yesterday using the IG Turquoise from Group Buy 2 and got lots of oohs and aahs from my students. They loved the color. I told them to look at the signature again this morning before they returned the forms to the proper teacher and they have been bugging me all day long wanting to know how I made it do that color change. I tell them Konrad made it change, aided by our mutual friend oxygen, and turned it into a short lesson on redox reactions. That adds up to a great ink and a lesson plan all for one low price. What a deal.

:D

Mixed iron-nickel/cobalt complexes give beautiful colors. And also instead of iron-gall complexes the change is not from transparent to dull grey-violet, but from pink to bright blue, and finally to saturated blue/violet. It is very sad that they are highly toxic and hence can not be used for ink making :(

I have a lot of tape - and I won't hesitate to use it!

Thanks for the update.

Hopefully that means I should see the inks by early next week at the latest (the mail has already come for today); although I had sort of been hoping that I could let the person who's getting half the bottles know so (a) she can pay me; and (B) so I can get them to her (she lives about an hour away, and it would have been nice to do that on a weekend).

I am also waiting for one of those promo mini-journals from Renaissance Art (from another thread). As of about 9:15 PM last night (not sure if that's MDT or EDT) it had left the Albuquerque facility....

As I posted previously, I didn't receive a second shipping notification either, so I think something did happen with that second batch. Either way my inks are here safe and sound and I definitely appreciate your hard work on our behalf.

Just wanted to thank everyone involved for a smooth and gratifying purchase of lovely inks. To give others what to expect with packaging, follow the unraveling of the ninja-packaged goods.

(1) Unboxing. Note how all the bottles are securely wrapped in miles of tape and bubble wrap.

(2) Like layers of an onion, more layers are revealed. The bottles were securely bundled together within the outer protective layer.

(3) Individually foam layer wrapped bottles released from bundle.

(4) BUT we're not done yet! Each bottle encased in a layer of ninja wrap!

(5) Finally! The bottles released and naked in their glory! Note the nice touch of tape around the cap. Ninjas are always prepared for anything! :ninja:

Thanks again. The packaging is most appreciated to insure each of us receives our anticipated inks safe and sound!

What's the lower left ink?

I would also like to add my thanks to the team that brought this amazing selection of inks to the United States. I received my package two days ago (and found out via a text from my wife with a "Guess what arrived today?). I filled up four pens and have had two amazing days with iron gall and regular blue inks at work, with different kinds of paper, and pure enjoyment. I didn't know what I was missing with these inks, but I'm a very proud owner and user!

Thank you again!

Mine showed up a few days ago, but I've been too busy to even think about them. Computer problems have demanded all my attention.

What kind of aliencraft is behind those ink bottles? I didn't think those were still used.

The last package just went out in today's mail.

There was one cancellation, consisting of a bottle of Old Gold (see Cyber6's swatch, below). That bottle is up for grabs, this week, to the first person who has not participated in a group buy. If it is not claimed by 0830, EST, Monday, 4 May, I'll open it up to everybody, but, the goal remains to get this ink into as many new hands as possible.

Again, if you have already participated in a KWZI group buy, please do not request this bottle before next week. fpn_1412478154__kwzi_57.jpg

I purchased IG Turquoise & Azure of Sky.

The latter has me puzzled. Even in a Pelikan M205 m nib it seems drier than the ig turquoise. Any thoughts.

Mine arrived today. :bunny01: Only a couple of bottles appear to have leakage (one of mine, and one of my friend's) but the leakage didn't go past the plastic wrap. No pix yet (sorry). Took about a half hour to get the bottles unwrapped as far at the clear plastic, and then I had dinner.

Fortunately one of the non-leaking bottles was IG Mandarin (YAAY!.) :puddle: So I strongly suspect that will be the first for me to try....

Thanks again for everyone's hard work in making these available. Looking forward to Group Buy #4 because Konrad keeps coming out with these really amazingly yummy looking inks.....

Azure Sky hates Pelikan M20xs. It's very sad. In fact, all the regular KWZIs I tried in my M200s had a bad attitude (one stained), but the IGs were amazing. Since I've decided (without any empirical evidence), that it must be the pen. So, try it in a TWSBI.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).
