Leaky Daniel Defoe

Recommended Posts

It seems I've got a leaky defoe on my hands :-(

I've got ink coming from the join between the black barrel and the engraved ring. The guy in 'the pen shop' suggested it may just be crystallised ink in the join and soaking overnight in warm water. Tried this and with a fresh fill today I've got ink on my fingers again - gutted.

Back to MB she goes

Anyone else experience this?

This sounds like a leak and a case for mb service, unless you are not filling the pen according to the instructions given by the mothership. Do you return a few drops to the bottle after filling your pen?

Ah I wouldn't mind a fine nib, currently it's an M but I've had it since Oct? Albeit was given to me for Xmas

Yep I'm returning a few drops and also made sure when filling yesterday to only submerge the tip of the nib.

Did you try drying it after fill and THEN wait to see if it leaks more?

I am sorry, but I ask because most of my pen 'gather' ink in that area during a fill and sometimes the extra just seeps down like in the picture unless I remember to tissue it before
